Niall nodded, putting an arm around Meliza and walked out with her. Meliza let Niall drive her home, sighing. Niall held her hand and carried her to their room when they got home. “Let’s watch a movie.” Meliza nodded, hiding her face into Niall’s chest. Niall set her on their bed and picked out The Little Mermaid since it was Meliza’s favorite. Meliza snuggled into him, her back to his chest as she watched the movie. He held her close to him, and she fell asleep in his arms. Niall fell asleep shortly after.
At about four, Misty started to whimper. She saw Liam’s smile, and then the car being slammed into. She cried out in her sleep, calling for Liam. Misty heard Liam’s scream, and then saw him laying in a coffin, her screams turned to sobs, and she was almost begging now. Liam woke and touched her cheek, singing softly to her. Her eyes flew open and she stared up at him, tears rolling down her cheeks. “Liam,” she whimpered, breaking down. Liam kissed her forehead, murmuring “I’m right here baby.” She curled closer to where he was laying, shaking badly. Liam hugged her shoulders comforting her as best as he could. Misty hid her face in his chest and soon calmed down, relaxing slightly. Whimpering, she told him what she dreamed, and held to him tightly. Liam stroked her hair, whispering words of comfort. She looked up at him, and he kissed her forehead. “It was s-so real,” Misty mumbled, holding onto him. “Shh I know baby” he soothed. She bit her lip, laying her head on his chest and curling into him.
Once she had fallen back asleep, a woman came in and sat across the room, who Liam recognized as Misty’s mother. Her mother hadn’t contacted her once since her father passed. Liam resisted the urge to glare at her, or kick her out of the room. Instead, he willed himself to sleep, holding Misty’s hand. Misty’s mother glared at him, Misty hid her face in her pillow as she slept, keeping a firm grip on Liam’s hand, tear streaks on her cheeks still. Liam held her close and slept softly, waking an hour later when he felt Misty wake up. Her mother was still there, and now was glaring at him. Liam whispered to Misty “Love, you may want to turn around” he said, biting his lip. She nodded a bit, hiding her face in her pillow, she was shaking. Taylor, their mom, stood and sat on Misty’s bed, touching her shoulder. “Hey baby” she smiled. Misty shied away from her touch, not answering her. Liam nuzzled her neck and whispered “You have to talk to her love” She shook her head, moving and hiding her face in his shoulder. Liam touched her cheek softly and made her look at him “Please sweetie?” Misty looked up at him, her mother disappearing on them had hurt her, and it was in her eyes. Liam kissed her forehead “Talk to her” he encouraged softly. He hated her mom for what she did, but Misty needed to talk to her. Misty glanced at her mother and communicated exactly what she couldn’t put into words with her eyes before hiding her face in Liam’s chest.
Taylor looked at Misty “What happened, why are you in here?” “Car wreck,” she mumbled. “It was probably his fault” She snapped, glaring at Liam, who remained silent. Misty’s eyes started to water and she hid her face in Liam’s chest her grip getting more firm by the second. “No it wasn’t,” she said. Taylor snorted “Right. Why are you with him anyways?” “Because I want to be,” she whispered, her voice was shaking. Liam glared at Taylor “Why are you even here?” She bit her lip and looked at him when her mother said. “Because I have a right to be. Get your hands off my daughter,” Taylor snapped, making Misty flinch. Liam sat up in the bed, flinching slightly at his ribs. “That’s funny, because your daughter doesn’t even want to talk to you.” Misty rubbed small circles on his chest to help soothe the pain just slightly, still holding onto him tightly. She smirked. “At least I haven’t hurt her!” Liam looked down, she had a point. Misty felt it and looked up at him, hugging him gently around the neck and hiding her face in his shoulder, trying to remind him that she didn’t believe it was his fault because he had never willingly hurt her and she hoped he never would.
That is when Meliza stormed in. Meliza was fuming, hair in a high ponytail, not caring that her love bites were showing and was wearing dark skinny jeans, a plaid button-up shirt and heels. “What. The. Hell. Are. You. Doing. Here.” she growled. “Just reminding the failure that he hurt my daughter and I don’t want him anywhere near him.” Taylor smirked at the look on Liam’s face, the same look making Misty’s tears start to spill over. Liam wiped her tears as Meliza growled “Listen here. He is not a failure, and a drunk driver hit them. You need to leave.” “You can’t make me,” she stated. Niall came in behind her and raised an eyebrow, kissing Meliza gently before going over and helping Liam calm Misty down trying to get her to smile. Meliza stormed up to her mother. “Actually I can. Because you have no right to be here.” “I’m her mother. I have every right.” Taylor stated. “I haven’t done anything wrong.” Meliza scoffed. “Riiight. Because leaving for months on end after dad died wasn’t wrong.” “It wasn’t and its not like it mattered.” “She fucking needed you!!!” Taylor shrugged. “So? Her boyfriend didn’t manage to protect her so why should I not stay?” “Because she doesn’t want you around!!! And frankly I hope I never see your face again.” Taylor got up and left, rolling her eyes.
