Chapter 14

LIAM’S POV

I smiled softly as I changed into some jeans and a batman shirt, brushing my teeth. I really did love Misty, and hated myself for hurting her. I waited for her, letting my mind wander. I wasn’t sure how I felt exactly about Niall and Meliza, but I couldn’t say anything, it was already done. When I saw her come down the stairs he laughed; we had matching shirts on. “Well hello there batwoman” I joked. She blushed quite a bit and stared at her hands, looking completely adorable. I laughed and poked my head into the doorway of the kitchen “Me and Misty are going out, we’ll be back in a few hours. Be good” I joked before taking Misty’s hand. She tensed almost immediately, but relaxed a few minutes later. I squeezed her hand and led her to the car. Misty didn’t say anything, she kept her head down, she couldn’t look me in the eyes. “Love I’m so sorry for last night, I’ll never forgive myself” I said earnestly as I started the car. “It’s fine,” she forced the words out, she was shaking. I shook my head “No it’s not. If you don’t want to go out I understand” She looked up, the shaking getting worse. It had sounded like I was breaking up with her, that’s not how I meant it though. “Baby I meant out to breakfast” I said gently, hating myself more and more as the seconds passed. She looked up at me and her eyes darted over my face. “I want to,” she mumbled. I stroked her cheek with a feather-light touch “Please forgive me” I whispered again.

“I have…. I just can’t get those words out of my head,” She whispered and looked down. “I didn’t mean them, you know that right?” From the way her eyes widened I could tell she hadn’t. I bite my lip “I can’t control my dreams love, like I said earlier. I love you, so much.” A real smile crossed her face and she said softly, looking up at me. “I love you too.” I smile and kiss her forehead softly making her giggle. “Let’s go get you some breakfast” I smiled. She nodded and I drove her to the diner I heard her talking about a while back.

Her face lit up and I smiled at her, kissing her cheek before getting out, opening her door for her. We walked inside together, and ate breakfast.

After they ate, Misty and Liam walked arm and arm out of the diner, Misty was back to normal. Liam grinned and kissed her softly, glad she was herself again as they got into the car. Misty smiled at him. They pulled up to the intersection they have a green light. A truck speeds through the intersection and collided into the side of the small car on the passenger side, sending them spinning. Liam went black after screaming Misty’s name, not knowing what happened. Misty heard Liam scream as the airbags were released, and she was knocked out.

Meliza’s cell phone rang, and Meliza pulled away from the kiss her and Niall were sharing, smirking as she answered “Meliza Ten- Horan speaking” she said, getting butterflies as she heard her full name for the first time. “Hello Mrs. Horan, are you the sister of Misty Tennant?” The voice asked. Meliza’s smile slowly faded “Yes, who is this?” she asked slowly. “This is the town’s chief of police, there’s been an accident.” Meliza froze, something clearly wasn’t right. “W- what happened?” she whispered. “She and a Mr. Payne had right of way in an intersection, a drunk truck driver hit them on the passengers side, causing the car to spin. Both are alive, but in the hospital,” The man explained. “What hospital?” she asked, there were two in the town. “Southwest.” he said and she took a deep breath “We’ll be right there” she said softly. The man hung up. Niall looked up from his book. “What’s wrong?” Meliza gulped, shaking so badly she could hardly stand as she shook her head. Niall stood and wrapped his arms around her. “There was an accident” she said softly.

“Is everyone okay?” Niall looked worried. “They said that Liam and Mist were okay but they’re in the hospital...” “Lets go,” he looked at her, getting his car keys. She nodded and slipped shoes on, going to the car and getting in the passenger side. Niall followed quickly, and soon they were at the hospital. Liam and Misty were in separate room and were both asleep. Misty had taken more than Liam had, and Meliza went instantly to her sister’s side. Last time she was in a hospital room, it had been when her dad died. Misty’s head had a bandage around it, and she had broken her arm and pulled a muscle in her back. Meliza felt a tear fall as she clutched her sister’s non-hurt hand. Misty’s eyes opened just barely and stared up at her big sister. Meliza kissed her hand softly, and she whimpered. “what happened? W-Wheres Liam?” “Shh, everything’s alright. Some dumb ass drunk driver hit you, Liam’s in the next room over.” Misty’s eyes widened and she tried to sit up. “I-Is he okay?” Meliza pushed her back down and nodded “He’s alright, he hasn’t woken up yet. You got the worst of it”
