The next day I was in a bubble bath with my belly just above the water as Cook came in disrupting me. "Sorry got to use the loo."
I sat up straight and put a hand over my chest "James, get out! I need to relax before my appointment." My right hand reached out to move some of the bubbles around to cover me up some more as I saw his eyes run up and down my frame.
"Looking good Babe." he clicked his tongue at me and rolled his R's while zipping his jeans
"You're not helping me." I rolled my eyes and rested my head back after scooting down into the tub again. Cook came over and sat on the edge of the tub as he rubbed his fingers across the part of my stomach not covered by the water.
After few more minutes I got out to rinse off any soap and to dry off. Wrapping myself in a towel I walked out of the bathroom into mine and Cook's room to find some clothes. Once dressed, I went downstairs and grabbed the car keys heading out the door to find Cook hooking up some baby things in the backseat. I put myself into the passenger seat and played on my phone "James." he ignored me and continued in his attempt at putting in the baby apparatus in the car. "James." I said it a little bit louder this time, but he still ignored me. "Cook!" I yelled it towards my phone and the noise in the backseat ceased. Turning around, he was giving me a stare that he didn't plan on breaking anytime soon.
"What?"
"Doctor's appointment... 20 minutes.." I tried to get him to remember and suddenly it hit him
"Ah, fucking hell. Damn it." He slammed the door shut and hopped into the driver's seat starting the car and speeding off as I laid a hand on my ever growing bump. On the way to the doctor's, Cook cut off four people resulting in middle fingers, swear words, and other angry drivers. Upon arrival we were immediately called back to a room as another appointment was cancelled. The nurse had Leigh lay back on the bed so she could take an ultrasound of the baby.
"Alright, this might be a little cold at first, but most women get used to it quickly." I nodded as she turned on a couple machines before spreading the gel onto my lower midsection. She put the Transducer Probe onto me starting to move it around. The nurse quickly found the location of the baby and left the probe there in order for us two to see. I looked to see a black and white picture of their little girl as tears formed. Cook gripped onto my hand and sniffed

"That's her," I sniffled up my nose "She's getting so big." the nurse smiled and gazed at the machine.
"From the looks of it, you're around 18-19 weeks almost 20." she nodded then walked out of the room to give us a couple minutes to admire the picture. A couple minutes later a doctor came in to do the routine check up for pregnant women, he gave me and the baby a good bill of health then the okay to leave.
Walking back out to the receptionists desk, I scheduled my next appointment and took a reminder slip as Cook intertwined our hands and led us out to the car. On the way home we passed a McDonald's and he turned into the parking lot driving up to the drive thru "Chicken Nuggets?" he verified before ordered me some then a burger for him. I happily munched down on the small nuggets alternating the dipping sauces. We got closer and closer to the house and I was quickly running out of nuggets.
"James?" I mumbled around some chewed up food
"Hmm?"
I looked down to the remaining 2 then back up to him "I'm running out of chicken nuggets." I pouted to convince him that I needed more. "Can you get me more? Please?" he arched a brow and gave me a side stare while he chewed.
"You serious?" He glanced at my empty nugget box "I suppose I can." he rerouted us to get more food and shook his head.
Okay, so yes I'm finally updating :) after what feels like years to me. I know it's short but it's sort of a filler chapter for now. Sorry for all the time jumps, I just really want Leigh to have the baby already. Some exciting things happened this summer like I went to Waldameer twice with one of my friends and I got my report card so I'm starting this year as, wait for it, a senior!! I'm so excited it's my last year of school for awhile. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy and keep reading this.
