Growing up

"I ran in circles,
Until the world put me on pause,
Threw me upside down,
Closed my windows and my doors,
Dragged me into a silence
I hadn't met since I was born,
And I learnt to rewrite my words
In my head
Learnt to stop running to reach goals and slipped heels on instead
My cartwheels crashed into walls of memory.
I spelt out my thoughts,
To remove any chemistry,
Drown out the poetry,
Put myself into a state of normality,
My smile a facade
A fake key to popularity,
I ripped down myself
Just by my stare
My endless wishing
That it could be fair
My rehearsed laugh
Was raw I chocked
I learnt never to say what I thought "
