"And then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like a snail
Unwilling to go to school....."
EARLY CHILDHOOD: THE EARLY STAGE OF GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. IN STAGE THEY LEARN QUICKLY AND GENERALLY ARE HAPPY. THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THEIR EMOTIONS AND ARE EASILY DISTRACTED. SCHOOLING STARTS IN THIS PERIOD.MOST KIDS ARE UNWILLING TO GO TO SCHOOL BUT ONCE THEIR THEY SOCIALIZE WELL.
As soon as the shrill of bell was heard kids ran out of the school gates into the awaiting arms of their guardians. A little girl of five stood near the gates her eyes wandering around as if looking for someone, seeing her standing there the guard said "Your parents must be late, stay here.... they'll come soon."
The little girl stood there waiting for her mummy to come , as the time passed no one came for her and the guard was worried, he asked for her name and other whereabouts' but the girl stood there not uttering a word. This behavior made the guard even more worried, he was about to go and inform in office about the girl when a woman came. She sat on her knees in front of the child and hugged the child tightly, she showered the child in gentle kisses and asked if she was okay? To which the child replied "Where's daddy?"
As soon as the child asked the question the woman presumably her mother stood from her previously kneed down position and took the girls little hand in hers and said "We'll talk later when we reach home okay. " The little girl nodded her head lowly.
"Thank you" mother said to the guard.
"No problem, it's actually my job" Guard replied "Though it's not my business to interfere but you should be more responsible ma'am the child has been waiting for nearly three hours..." he added further.
"I know, it's just that her his sister was supposed to pick her up today, since I was a bit busy and she forgot. I came to get her as soon as I could but I was out of city it took me some time. But anyways thanks a lot , it means a lot. " She told the guard and left with the girl.
As soon as they reached home they little girl again asked "Where's Daddy?"
The mother shook her head and looked at her daughter sadly and said "First , you change clothes and eat something , then we'll talk okay."
"But mommy" the girl started but the mother cuts her "No buts missy you do as mommy says or else mommy won't tell you, now tell me what do you want to do?"
The little girl went towards her room, changed her clothes and went to the dining area quietly. She ate her food in silence.
{Mother's pov}
The mother watched her little girl with a sad expression, she couldn't bear to see her little girl who was always filled with excitement, be this low and sad but what could she do?
It hurt her to see her daughter act sullen especially now when she should be dancing with joy, after all it's her Birthday tomorrow.
She didn't mind that he was not here for their twentieth anniversary but their daughter's fifth birthday meant something but what could she do, she can't be selfish. She can't ask him to leave everything and come celebrate his daughter's birthday, well she could... but not with the type of job he was in.
