Chapter 10: Traveling!?

Natsumi's POV

"What's the distance to the target?"

"Five meters. I'm ready anytime."

"So am I."

"Me too."

"Me three."

"Okay, go!" That was our signal to get out of our hiding spot and try to capture our victim.

"URAAA!" The cat stopped what it was doing and nervously looked back at us.

"GOTCHA!" Naruto was the one who was able to grab the cat first. But I'm glad he did; the cat then started attacking him, scratching his face repeatedly, waiting for him to let go.

"Ribbon on the left ear. Are you sure this is the target, Tora?" Kakashi questioned us. I felt mischievous.

"I'll answer that question!" I said while cackling evilly. Nobody questioned my motives and so I continued with what I was about to do. I pressed the button and put the walkie-talkie close to my face.

"HI KAKASHI. TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, WE ARE POSITIVE THAT THIS IS OUR TARGET. I REPEA-"

"Enough Natsumi! Okay, this mission is now complete."

"Oh, my cute little Tora-chan. I was so worried." Poor little Tora was being squished.

"GYAHAHA! In your face, you stupid cat." Of course, Naruto would feel no pity for the cat after Tora attacked his face.

The Hokage started talking about what our next mission would be and that's when I started paying attention to what he had to say.

"Now Kakashi's Team #7 your next duty is..." He said while skimming through the list of missions. "Hmmm...Babysitting an elder's grandson, shopping in the neighboring village, and helping with the potato digging."

"NO!! NO!! NO!! No, thank you!!!" Naruto screamed doing an X sign with his arms. "I want to do you know, a more incredible mission!!! Find us a better one."

A tick mark started appearing on my forehead and I couldn't contain my anger. I love my brother, but sometimes I wish he can speak like a civilized person.

I bonked him on the head.

"CAN YOU EVER TALK WITHOUT HAVING THE NEED TO SCREAM ALL THE TIME? WE CAN PERFECTLY HEAR YOU JUST FINE WITHOUT YOU SCREAMING." When I was done with my rant, I started gasping for air and sat down. There was an awkward silence.

Iruka suddenly stood up from his chair and slammed his hands down on the table in front of him.

"You idiot! You are just a rookie! Everyone starts off with the simple duties and works their way up!!!"

"But!! But!! We keep getting the crappiest possible duties!!!" Naruto argued back, determined to persuade the Hokage to give them a better mission.

Kakashi smacked Naruto upside the head.

"Be quiet you!"

"Naruto, it seems I have to explain to you what these duties are all about. Listen, every day the village receives numerous requests, from babysitting...to assassination. Each request is written down on these lists and divided into an A, B, C, D ranking based on difficulty." The Hokage explained.

I tuned him out and rested my head on Sasuke's shoulder.

"Last night I had pork ramen, so miso sounds good for..."

"Hey!! Listen!!" The Hokage screamed, his brow twitching.

"Geez! All you do is give lectures like that. But you know what?!! I'm not the troublemaking brat you still think I am!!" Naruto said with his cheeks puffed out.
