Luke

"How old are you?" Vic asks as we sit in his living room, on his couches. I look at Lacy to see her with her knees to her chest and scrolling on her phone as she tunes in and out of our conversation.

"16." I answer, smiling at how cute she looks. She's got a trained look on her face and she looks almost deep in thought. Her eyebrows are furrowed and her tongue is slightly poking out from between her lips.

"Are you going to hurt my little girl?" Vic asks again, eyeing me. I look from Lacy to him and our gazes meet.

"I wouldn't be worrying about me hurting her. It's those kids at her school. I don't know who they are because I'm new here but they were hurting her." I say, anger building in my stomach as I remember what happened today. Why the hell would they do that to her? My God, she's beautiful.

"I knew it." Vic mumbles, looking to Lacy. She's now looking between us as she notices the angered look on her father's face.

I'd be angry if I were him to. But I'm angry because she's such a nice, beautiful girl. I've followed her on Twitter for two years now. It may sound creepy but I'm her number one fan. I've always wanted to meet her. When she'd post pictures on Twitter or Instagram, I'd like them and I could see the pain in her eyes. I wanted to hold her, tell her everything would be okay and do everything for her.

"Daddy calm down." she whispers just loud enough for us both to hear. He looks at her, his facial features softening visibly.

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asks softly. She shrugs and I watch as that empty filling takes over her eyes. Her gaze meets mine and I motion her over. I didn't think she'd actually come to me but she did and when she did, I wrapped an arm around her shoulders, holding her close.

"Everything will be okay darling. I'll be there to protect you." I whisper, and she nods, placing a hand on my chest.

Vic suddenly stands up, his phone in hand as he taps around on it. "I've gotta go. Something happened at the studio. Don't do anything stupid. And be safe." He says before leaving.

I look to Lacy and she's staring off into a distance. Her breathing is becoming shorter and I know exactly what's going on. I pull away from her, grabbing her chin softly, and making her look at me.

"Lacy. No. Stop thinking. Clear your mind." I say, and she shakes her head.

"Lacy. Clear your mind please." I say and the tears pour down her cheeks.

Lacy

My mind runs with thoughts as my chest tightens quickly. I stare at Luke through the tears as they stain my cheeks. I don't know what happened but it hurts and my wrists burn. I go to take a breath but I end up coughing out what little air I did have.

I start panicking even more than before as my throat constricts and I can't breathe at all.

Help! Help! Help! Please! Help me! My mind screams as I wheeze, trying to breathe but I can't.

"Lacy! Breathe! Please!" Luke yells, making me look at him. I shake my head, saying I can't.

My head whirls as it all gets worse. My breathing quits and I start going dizzy. My eyes flutter open and closed before Luke takes hold of me and sits me up right. He pries my jaw open and looks me in the eye.

"Breathe now!" he yells, and I can see the fear and worry etched on his face. My throat tightens and I close my eyes, trying to breathe but I can't. I close my eyes, pushing away the voice and clearing my head. I take a small breath, but it's not enough to keep me from passing out.

I feel my body fall limp as darkness surrounds me and I'm in a deep sleep.

Luke

I quickly grab her phone, praying to God she doesn't have a password. When her phone unlocks I cheer internally but search through her contacts and find Vic under Dad. I press call, putting the phone to my ear and laying her down gently, making sure her passage way is clear.

"Hello?" Vic answers.

"I swear I didn't do anything. She started having a panic attack and wouldn't breathe. She's just passed out. What the hell do I do?" I ask.

"Don't call an ambulance. If you do, they'll take her away. Just make sure her passage way is clear and is still alive. I'm on my way." He says quickly and I nod, putting my ear to her chest. I can hear small breaths and the sound of her heart beating.

"She's still alive." I say and hear Vic sigh.

"Bye for now Luke." he says and hangs up. I put her phone down beside her, watching her intently.

When Vic gets there, he  sits beside her, brushing hair from her face and kissing her forehead. I smile at the small gesture and watch as he looks at her.

"How bad was it?" he asks and I sigh.

"She was freaking out pretty bad. She tried breathing but couldn't." I answer and he shakes his head.

"Wouldn't listen to you?" he asks again.

"Couldn't it seemed like." I say and he nods.

"Thank you." He whispers and my eyebrows furrow.

"Why are you thanking me?" I ask and he turns to me.

"Thank you for staying here with her and watching out for her." he says and I nod.
