Darcy's p.o.v

I placed my cup on the table as I finished my tea. Layla grabbed it and I quietly thanked her.

"Layla! We're home!" A male voice yelled as I heard the door open. My eyes widened in panic and I began to shake.

"Mommy! We home!" A little girl yelled. I heard foot steps and I froze. A little girl wearing a floral pink dress walked in holding a man's hand. He had chocolate brown eyes and sandy blond hair.

"Oh hi honey," Layla said walking in from the kitchen. She walked over and kissed the man on the lips. She bent down and hugged the girl. " How's my favorite girl?" She cooed.

"We had so much fun mommy! Daddy push me on swings and, and we play tag and I made lots of friends!" The girl squealed. Layla smiled and picked her.

"That sounds awesome," Layla said.

"Who's your friend?" The man asked.

"Oh, where are my maners? Regan, Kaitlyn this is Darcy, Darcy this is my husband Regan and our daughter Kaitlyn," she said. She looked over at me and her eyes filled with concern. She handed Kaitlyn to Regan and walked over. "Are you alright?" She asked.

"No," I whispered and continued to shake.

"What's wrong?" She asked. I shook my head.

"Man," I said. I breathing became shallow and I gasped for breathe.

"I need you to calm down for me sweetie. Can you do that for me?" She said calmly. "I need you to look into my eyes and breathe," she said.

"He's gonna hurt me," I whispered.

"Regan can you take Kaitlyn upstairs?" She asked her husband.

"Yes, of course," he said and walked away.

"No one is going to hurt you, ok? It's just me and you no men, ok?" She calmed me.

"Delilah," I wheezed. "I need my baby," I gasped tears running down my face.

"Do you want me to go get her?" She asked. I nodded and she let go of my hands. She walked towards the stairs and let me alone. I held my chest, trying to calm down. I closed my eyes and pictured my mother's piercing blue eyes. I heard foot steps and snapped my eyes open. Layla gentlely walked down the stairs holding a purple bundle. I stood from the couch and ran to her.

"Hey baby," I cooed once I had her in my arms. I walked over to the couch and hugged her close to my chest. She began to whimper and I knew she was hungry. I pulled my shirt down and she latched on. I covered her with the blanket and rocked her back and fourth.

"Is it ok if my husband comes down?" Layla asked. I nodded slowly and focus my attention on Delilah. She unlatched and I pulled my shirt back up. I placed the blanket over my shoulder and burped her.

"There you go," I cooed. I held her close to my chest and began singing. "You are my sunshine. My only sunchine. You make me happy, when skies are grey. And you will never know how I love you. Oh please down take my sunshine away," I kissed her forehead. I heard foot steps and Layla and Regan slowly walked into the room.
