Chapter Twenty-Two: Dark Blue

The small fire crackles beside me, the warm orange shine brightly in the small room, the world is peaceful, for now.

The window that have a sea view reflected the shining sea. And then the silver circle that hang from the sky, and the white rings around the moon, slowly descending away like my thoughts, I wish I don't need to think about all though things, I wish I was home, with my parents, and my funny older brother,but... He may not miss me... I burry my head against my kneels which is pulled against my chest. I miss all of them, why didn't I spend more time with them, and now I am here, I don't know if I could survive this burning hell, the world of secrets, the maze of questions.

I wish I am not here, I wish to see my loved ones again, I wish...

That no one is going after us.

But...

I took a deep breath, in and out. Just wish to make the burning pain in my chest to leave, but instead the air around me feels hot and inhaling them may turn it worse.

"Betas..."

The beta days, no drama and certainly no killer Wisteriamoon is coming after us. Oh yeah that hilarious Flamingo, still standing on one leg, not falling, since the beta days-

Wait.

A Beta is all you need, standing tall not deciding to flee!

That Flamingo were standing there since the Beta days, 'a beta is all you need'.

That bird has been standing there since the beta days.

That could be were the clue lies, I untangle from the worn out blanket as the light bends with my body, small thum sound vibrates under me as I tiptoe through the wood floor.

Few steps till the door that I've already pushed wide open that the small beams had already penetrated, the moment of the yellow reached my feet, I doesn't waste any second to fly over to the flamingo, the water falls and breaks around my ankles and sweep away beneath my feet, as the water slyther back, I walk back with them, until the blue and now black can move back any further and that is when I break of the invisible wall.

As I sank lower and lower into the cold water, the world became colder and colder as the ants-like water creep up my shorts and unto my shirts, soaking them.

It's only one arm length away until a small paper dangling around the beta's neck, "Warning-" Before I could see the rest. Red. The beta's eyes turns glowing red, I swallowed down the fear as I contiuned with approaching the red eyed creature with a bit more caution.

The water circle around both of us, wave after waves carrying small patches of clouds, I reached out. And that is when I regret it.

A loud Boom breaks the silence underneath the earth. Black, the color I see as Weights drag me down below, I tried to scream, or shout as the water fills my lung, but...no avail.

I gasp for any air, but there isn't any, just another large body of blue. Before patterns swilling and dancing in front of my brown eyes, another light flashes, beneath. Flash of hope? Or after life?

The white grows bigger, eating away the darkness around me. More force was weighted on my shoulders. And the next second I was pulled toward the light.

I crashed, not on the sand but something hard, metallic. Something different from what you will find on a floor of the water. Small tickles runs pass my shoulder and soon, I am no longer in the freezing water, the feel of oxygen run before my noise as I inhaled large amount of life-saving gas.

The moment as I finish bringing my senses back to working, I step up onto the dark shiny ground which is covered in water that I may drank.

The room was large, gray metallic walls warp around a strained , thick smell of sweat, blood, sea water and urine. I wrinkles my nose from the weird breeze within this metal box.

I walk forward, arms crossed and heads down, I wanted to cry and I really do, but the salty liquid is not running down my cheeks. Large cylinder shapes containers flew into the view, green glowing cylinders. I stare into them, green, but with a shadow within it. I move closer and drank in all the details within the tube.

I gasped, within those tubes, within those green liquid, was a mermaid.

And not just a mermaid.

Swimming.
