Chapter Three: A Name To A Stranger

My mind drift off, pass the mountains and trees, go to some endless void. I am sitting on the ground of another tent close to the 'big tent'. 

"You need another name." A flash back comes into my head, something happened after when that 'Death Code'.

"You can pick a new one, but it only have to be in the animal jam data base."

"Why does it have to be in the data base?" I questioned.

"We have many people here, how could we know if that name is been used? Even if you say another person's name, that person still die."

So all I need to make a new name. I start fiddling with the end of my shirt.

"We have found a place with all the names you can choose from." The golden haired male said, the night slowly approach as the temperature drops down, I can already feel my surrounding getting cold and small goose bumps starting to grow on my skin. I shift again and crossing my arms trying to keep myself worm.

"We will be meeting near the fire pit, it's a ceremony thing for the new people. So you"—he point at me—"You have a party to attend."

And that's all the flash back I gave, I am soon gonna given l a new name, and I have to remember to not to say my name.

"New person?" A new voice come in behind me. "Yeah?" I replied without looking back, "Your welcome party thing is ready, please follow me."

I finally turned around, and my eyes focus on the figure that is in the door way. She is a small girl around 10, a flame red hair and a pair of emerald eyes. I stood up, I am much more taller than her, the age cap is probably why, I am way older than her. I can clearly see she is very nervous, maybe some of the new comers is not so friendly.

She swiftly turn away to the outside, without a word, she stepped out and I quickly tailed her behind.

During the whole walk, we both walk in silence, no one say anything during the whole walk.

The sounds of human slowly comes to my ears, and so my eyes met with a lot of people, what I mean a lot means like 100 people and upwards. Cracks of fire, the smell of burning wood, and people whispering.

"Welcome, newbie." The same golden hair male said, "I must remind you, this place is not that innocent, you can die here."

The sentence leave everyone in silence.

"I am the Alpha, and welcome to Jamaa, tonight you will choose your name and you will be living with the name until we found a way to get out of here."

Alpha turn around back to me, a stone broad apparently is behind him the whole time. It have words, name to be exact. "Come and choose."

I move other to the other side, many people have move out of the way of my route.

The broad was imprint with names, 'Infinity' 'eternal' 'monster' and more.

"Choose, this is your only chance."

There are way too many words to choose from, but only one name stands out for me.

Spirit

That name wasn't been used yet, but the name really attracts me, it's like screaming"pick me" over and over again.

"Spirit." I look at the Alpha.

"Okay." Alpha turn to the crowd, "we have a need comer, her name is Spirit."

The crowd cheers, that happiness at least make me loosen up, making me feel like home.

New name.

Spirit, has a nice ring to it.
