Chapter Twenty: Mermaid's eyes

The next few days were a blur, nothing happened and I don't really feel like doing anything, the screams of Zarfy still haunts me, did I feel sorry for him?

No.

That were the first answer that came into my head, he is a child killing psychopath, but...

Remembering the old Zarfy were different, he feel sorry for all those people who get scammed by him or get any harassment from him, so the question is revealed, is he guilty or not.

I shook my head slightly, the few days were a gigantic mess, I the blood splattering around was a very disturbing site to watch.

"Spirit?" I turn towards the door, Wretched.

"Yeah?" I stood up from my sitting position that is on the cold stone floor, that is in my room. "You okay?" Wretched step forward.

"No..." I said, quietly, only a whisper, when did I turn into this cry baby(Melanie Martinez :D). "Look I know that you were buried in questions but you need to keep your head up. Above the water." He added the last sentence when caution, I raise an eyebrow at him, does he means that I get drowned in my emotions and don't know how to get out until I was swallowed by the large waves.

"Yeah thank you Wretched but I don't know how to control my emotions." Wretched smiles, putting one hand on my back. "It's okay." I tried to smile back, but no smile coming to me.

"Right." Wretched step back to the door way, "I'll meet you at the bonfire when you're ready, Infinity got some news."

I nodded, Wretched stepped out of my sight. I sat back down on to my blanket, my head twitch to the left, seeing the empty bed of Swimming's. Why is Swimming not coming back to the camp? Great another question to worry about.

"Alright we have some important news." Infinity, as all leaders, standing tall in front of the whole clan, "There's a bad news that I've found out around this morning." Seems like everyone takes in a huge breath, just waiting to hear the bad news.

"I've founded out..."Infinity paused for a second before regaining her breath to finish the sentence. "That large amount of our clan's member been disappearing."

The news were out, everyone finally let go that breath that they were holding, but that doesn't mean they won't hold it again. "They are last saw in Crystal sand."

"Leaping you sure about this." I look at her with confused eyes and she stared back, "Yes I am sure, also Infinity told us to do so." I swallowed down the bitter, Eagle and Mythical already gone out with the rest of the team, only us two back here to get all the equipment we need for this expedition. All I know is, that we will not coming back to the main camp for a while.

"You got everything?"

"Yeah." I throw the very last few items into the container that they sewed from scrap materials.

"Let's go, the rest of the team is waiting."

I nodded at followed her out.

The air outside is foggy, but soon when we exit down Coral Canyons, but the sky will clear out, I am sure. But maybe not my emotions. Why are we the first team to sent to investigate over at the Crystal Sands?Still many questions that I wanted to ask anyone, but there are no one who is able to answer correctly.

The walk down to the beach wasn't soo long, due to the fact that I haven't been there before and everything seems to be so new. But for Leaping, she's probably bored to death because she've been there for a few times. And it could be boring to go to it again.

I sighed quietly, not trying to gain more attention or dramas, I don't really know what to do when we reach there, how are we supposed to know where is swimming or other people from the clan?

I don't believe that we actually have a plan.

Just throwing ourselves at danger.

My brain shuts off, just a bit, until I feel the ground's hardness transforms into a soft pillow like ground, the ground was no longer the dark brown stones, but instead, a golden sand. Like Crystals.

I look up from my shoes, up towards the blue sky, and the sea.

It was beautiful, large blue sea spreading across my vision, sparkling like the freshly cut sapphires. The air is fresh, not like the air back in Coral Canyons. It's like a gentle hand, smoothly runs through my hair, even though it's tangled and like a huge jungle just piled above my head, but the wind is able to pass through the spaces around the knots.

"The shack should be around here.." Leaping look around until she sees a small shack, standing next to the open sea, it wasn't much of a sight but it still in good condition.

"This is our home for a few weeks now." Leaping clearly showing sadness in her voice, guess she doesn't like that place? Sure it's a shack but it doesn't mean it's any worse than living in a cave.

"Wretched set the camp up." Leaping steps into the shack, and immediately stopped, the inside was covered in dust and cobwebs.

"Yeah okay." Wretched smiled, seems like the dust in the air doesn't bother him at all, I really question what is up with him.

"Just step back..." Wretched waved his hand to let us go away, and we did, the whole group. I crock an eyebrow but didn't look at Wretched.

"Spirit, we needed to find out some clues, we have a whole list of clues but we couldn't fit those together, maybe you can help?"

"Yeah sure." That why we are here, so why not look at the list.

Leaping immediately dug into her bag and pull out a roll of paper, and handed it to me.

"Where did you get all this stuff?" I questioned as I roll open the paper, "the art studio back in Coral Canyons, you know? Like the place where you draw and create masterpieces?" Leaping answer, I for a 'O' on my mouth to let her know I understand, and I turn back down to look at the information we got so far.

-the team was last seen at Tierney's Aquarium.

" you got any ideas?" I ask leaping, she sorta shook her head but she indeed got something in mind of finding the lost team.

"We could check on the rest of the aquarium?"

"Okay let's do it."
