I Dare You

Chapter 02

Before I got to school Jax sent me a message and addressed the Rules of the dare with me. I had forgotten what I had just gotten my self into but If I declined then Jax would declare me as "chicken" or "sissy". Like I said I had nothing to worry about, this would be easy just like the other girls. 

Text Message from Jax 

Jax: Hey dude, hope your ready for today. Its going to get interesting lol Here are the rules - 

1. Date her for at least 1 month 

2. Take her out on two dates 

3. Tell her you love her 

4. Sleep with her 

Good luck Candy Kane lol 

As I read through the message, my eyes widened in fear and regret. No way I was going to take her out or even worse - sleep with her. My reputation will be ruined, what has Jax got me into to? I cringed at the word "Candy Kane" thats what my mother calls me to this day. It's annoying that Jax calls me it just to irritate me.

It was last period which meant we had Geography. I had planned out everything with Jax in the Cafeteria. I wasn't frightened, I was just nervous. I'd never said a word to Mia Brown ever in my entire life. I didn't know the colour of her eyes, the shade of her skin or the tone of her voice. All I knew was that she was the school shadow. She was alone, dark and mysterious. Soon she'll meet me, she will be my fake girlfriend and in the end I finally be with Ava. It isn't that hard. 

I walked in Geography with Jax throwing my football in the air and catching it again. Geography didn't have much students which was a good sign. I don't want anyone watching me ask out Mia Brown. I smiled at Mr. Jones and headed to my usual seat next to Jax. I sat down and looked around for Mia. 

I scanned around the room until I saw a figure in the corner of my eye. Her smooth chest nut hair came pouring down her back. Hazel eyes with a speck of light from the sun rebounding from her eye. She looked normal for a second, which felt weird. She caught sight of me and I gave her a creepy smirk. She looked over the room to see whether I was smiling at her or someone else. Once she knew I was looking t her, her eyes widened in surprise. She didn't smile back at me, just a hard glare. 

Mr. Jones was in a good mood today so he let us go early. Most of the class had left and Mia was was getting out of her desk with a pile of books clutched in her hands. She picked up her guitar case and held it in the other hand. She struggled a bit holding all those stuff at once. 

Jax gave me the signal and thats when I walked up to her. I took a deep breath digging my nails in the palms of my hands. She was facing the other way and didn't hear or notice me getting closer to her. 

"Hi, I'm Kane." She turned around, giving me that shocked facial expression again. 

"H-hi." She stammered as tried to avoid me and walk off. 

I grabbed her wrist and clutched on to it tightly pulling her in. "W-wait, you haven't told me your name." 

She quickly let go of my hand looking up to me in confusement and anger. 

"No! I don't want to do your work for you or tutor you." She said with fire in her eyes. 

"No, I just want to get to know you." I said sweetly trying to pull her in 

She raised and eyebrow and started to cringe. "But I don't want to know you." She turned around walking out of class. 

I felt embarrassed, I thought she would of bought it, she wasn't even flattered. I didn't even see a single blush just a straight face. Shes gotta love me, every girl does and so should she. 

"Hahaha nice try dude but you just got rejected." Jax said laughing his head off. 

"I thought she would want to talk to me. That was a waste of effort, she didn't even look flattered or blushed." 

"Well Kane, shes different. Shes smart too smart for your tricks, she knows what game you were playing at. Shes not stupid like the other girls in the Cheer squad - no offence to my sister whos in the squad. You just need to try something else, don't give up. Do you want this date with my sister or what?" 

"I thought she would be easy, but I guess shes hard to get."
