Half of the day was gone and only just yesterday was when Mia rejected me. I didn't feel sad or hurt, I just didn't expect her to push me away so sudden. Today was a new day and theres plenty of time to try again.

I roamed through the school grounds looking for her. It seemed impossible and I was this close to giving up. The last place that I hadn't check was the school theatre. I had lost all hope on finding her, what would Mia be doing here? I had no choice, it was the only way.

To my surprise the door was already open which gave me hope. I slowly crept through the halls trying hard not to nudge anything. On the stage there was a ray of light. Music was flowing through the air, with a beautiful voice leaping from one wall to the other. The singing was in perfect tune and the guitar was played at ease, delicately.

The door was slightly ajar and I popped my head through trying to get a glimpse of who owned this beautiful voice. I gazed closely on the stage trying my best to identify this person, but I didn't need to. I knew exactly who it was, it was the last person I would expect to own that voice. Mia Brown. She sat on the chair with her sheet of music learning against the grand piano. Her guitar was clutched around her body with her fingers strumming along the strings. How could something so perfect be coming from Mia?

She continued with her singing but this time she was playing the piano just as perfect as she played the guitar. I could stand here and watch her all day, everything about it was magical.

I leaned against the rusty door as it accidentally nudged making a loud creak. It echoed throughout the theatre catching Mias attention. Her fingers stopped moving and her top and bottom lip shut. She looked around the room, the chairs, toilets, stair case then at me. I was standing in the gloomy dark and she wouldn't have seen my clearly.

"Hello? Is anyone there?"

I pushed my weight against the door seeing the full view of the theatre. We both looked each other in the eye with Mia looking speechless. Nothing came out her mouth, she strapped her guitar around her body and walked off the stage. She walked towards me heading for the exit, with her head down with a strand of hair covering most of her face.

"Hey Mia." I said politely.

She didn't reply back, she kept walking and I needed her to stop her.

"You have a great voice, and I never knew you could play Piano."

She grounded herself stopping in front of the door. "Were you listening?"

"Yes, it sounded beautiful." I said choking on my words.

Her head titled upwards as she gazed at her feet, she raised an eyebrow and kept on walking. I couldn't let her walk away, I needed to ask her out for the dare.

"Mia, wait!" I said running towards her, reaching out." She turned around a little frightened almost losing grip of her guitar. She didn't say a word, she gritted her teeth and inhaled deeply, shutting her eyes for a moment.

"Why? Why are you all of a sudden following me and talking to me? If you want something, then I'm the wrong person your after." She shouted with her echo bouncing through the corridor.

"No Mia, I don't want anything from you. I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime." I asked trying to sound gullible enough for her to say yes.

I waited for and answer to come out of her mouth, but instead she had a disgusted look upon her face. She smiled and started clapping which made me confused.

"Nice one Mr. Evans, but not nice enough. If you think your going to walk over me like you did to all those other little cheerleaders of yours, then think again. Boys like you make me sick." She said as her fiery eyes looked into mine.

I gulped with fear, this was all unexpected. Mia doesn't like being played and she knows what game I'm playing at. "W-what are you talking about? Can't a guy like me hang out with a girl like you?"

She rolled her eyes shaking her head, "a guy like you whos a total idiot!"

I laughed a little agreeing to what she was saying. "What about tonight?"

"No, I'm busy?"

"Busy with what?"

"My life, and staying away from you." She stammered.

"Just say yes." I begged.

"No, I can't. I have trials!"

"Trials? Trials for what?"

"Non of your business! Now get out of my way."

I didn't move a muscle, What trials was she talking about?

"Why are you making this so difficult?"

"Why are you making me want to punch you in the face? Stay away from me and go find another girl whos stupid enough to be used by a boy like you." She walked past me shoving me with her shoulder.

I winced in pain, not wanting to let it out. This was the last thing I expected from Mia Brown. I've never seen a girl stand up for herself like that. I watched as she walked out the door furious which made me giggle a little. I can't believe I'm saying this but she actually looked cute when shes angry.

Down at my feet was Mia's paper she must of dropped. I picked it up having a look at the paper. I read across the title which said "Philadelphia Woman's Soccer Academy." My jaw dropped to the ground with my eyes in disbelief. What was Mia doing with a paper from the countries best woman's soccer academy?

I couldn't believe anything I was reading. Was this letter sent to Mia Brown? The nerd that carries her guitar around and wears boy clothes? This couldn't be true, I'd never seen her kick a ball around before, well I never see her at all actually. Shes never crossed my mind until that day Jax made the bet on me.

Our school has no female soccer team, because no girls have ever been interested in soccer. Every girl either joins the Cheer leading squad or the book clubs and Mia was in every book club so why would she by playing for the cities best woman's academy?

The pieces in the puzzle weren't fitting together, this didn't make sense. Perhaps there is another Mia Brown at our school? Everything about this seems too good to be true, but theres only one way to find out.

Go to the try outs myself.
