I sat against the wall of my cell. It smells like rotting flesh, death and blood, not that it didn't smell like that every other day, the taste of metal was in the air but something was different. The air was different. I heard someone moving and looked up to see a man clad in armor. He said nothing as he dropped a body down into my cell. The body hit the floor and I looked back at the man above me. He said nothing as he moved away. I stared at the place where he had been for a while before my gaze travelled to the body now laying on the floor of my cell wrinkled......Hollow. I got up from my sitting position against the wall and walked over to it. It was a Hollow, but why would he throw it into my cell? I searched the body and eventually found a set of keys.

I moved away from the body and used the keys to unlock my cell. That's why. I ran through the hallway full of Hollows, their bodies thin their rib cages showing, banging and scratching on the walls with their long finger nails. I noticed the large demon to my right caged. I was fine as long as I didn't have to fight it. I looked down at my broken sword. Yeah, I can't fight it like this. I found a ladder that led up out of the underground cells and into a small outside area. I searched around the area bathing in the smell of fresh air. The only things I found however were an unlit bonfire and a large door. I approached the bonfire, I felt drawn to it. My hand reached out subconsciously and touched the bonfire.

The bonfire blazed to life and I yanked my hand back, although I felt no heat. I reached my hand out slowly and touched the fire, there was neither searing heat or pain, it was warm like coming home. I quickly pushed the thought out of my mind, I had no home.....not anymore. I pulled my hand away and looked at the door. Before I could start walking the memories starting coming back.

The screaming "You monster! You are no son of mine!" My father grabbing a knife impaling my ribs. The fire. "Stop." I said quietly. The view of the blood stained land, the screaming of my enemies and allies. "STOP!" I yelled. I was sweating. Taking in deep breaths I quickly regained my composure and approached the door as the words echoed in my mind, "You monster!" "You are no son of mine."

I pushed the giant door grunting with effort. The door opened and revealed a room with a lot of pottery and another door across from where I had just entered. Above the door was a platform with a white fog behind it. I walked into the center of room and looked up. The roof was half broken and I saw a large looming figure looking down at me. Son of a bitch. The demon jumped down and landed in front of me. It swung a giant mace towards me which I quickly rolled under. I calmed the fear rising in myself as I stared at the demon.

I looked down at my broken straight sword. I sighed as I threw it to the floor and the demon took another swing which I didn't have time to roll under. I turned towards the end of the mace that was a foot away. I smirked, let's try something stupid. I put my hands out and waited for the impact. The mace impacted my hands and pushed me sideways slamming me into a pillar which crumbled on top of me. I grunted as I got up from the rubble, my current strength was not enough. My armor saved my life, not that I could actually die. I wasn't able to stop the blow completely but I did in fact lessen the damage the mace would have done if I hadn't attempted catching it.

Now that plan A failed, time for plan B, I waited for another swing from the demon and quickly rolled under the demon getting behind him. While fighting the demon I surveyed the room and noticed another smaller door behind a bunch of pots. I made a break for the door hearing it shut behind me and the sound of the pots shattering, probably because the demon took another swing. I walked down the narrow staircase and spotted another bonfire. Great, I sat at the bonfire taking a rest.
