I rushed the Hollow as it shot another bolt that I ducked under. I grabbed it by its throat lifting off the ground causing it to drop the crossbow. It stared down at me, it's gaze void of any emotion. I threw it off the tower as I sighed and took a sip of estus watching my would close up.
I slid down he ladder and continued my walk across the bridge. It seemed to be the tower of a castle, of course, the Age of Fire started here huh? As I reached the 3/4 point I watched as a demon came clamoring and jumping off the tower I had just been running towards holding a gigantic axe. Son of a bitch. I quickly took out a pine bundle I had found in a chest earlier after I had left Evelyn behind and killed all the Hollows and slid it across my blade watching the lighting dance across it.

I heard a large crash, what was going on out there? I got up and walked over to the fog wall but before I could do anything the ground shook and sent me back to the floor. I rubbed my butt as I rose again, ow. I placed a hand on the fog "Allow me passage" I said. No reaction. I lightly pushed against the fog but it was futile, it refused to budge. I flinched as I heard an inhuman growl. What was happening? Was Alex in trouble? I paced around the room wondering what I could do. Alex, I hope you're okay....

As the demon clutched its head with one hand I sliced at its ankles, the only thing I could reach on something that was five times my size. Distracted by swinging at his ankles I didn't notice him swinging his axe towards me. The impact sent me into the wall of the tower groaning although I did take less damage than I expected. Looks like the strength training wasn't for nothing. The tower had held well and hadn't collapsed with the impact keeping Evelyn safe although I did hear her scream. I needed away to get the demon away from this tower. I looked around the bridge. Perfect. I quickly rolled under the demons legs as my mind went into overdrive trying to figure out how I would get this done.

The ground was still shaking with mint earthquakes, like something massive in size was walking. I stared at the part of the wall that had sunk in. It looked like a man had been thrown into it.....hard. I put my hand on the fog once more "Please, allow me passage" I whispered. There was again no response. I put my hand down when the fog suddenly dispersed. There was nothing in sight except for Alex who seemed unsteady, sure enough he fell over. "Alex!" I yelled as I ran over to him. I propped his head on my lap as I examined him, he had heavy injuries and was very quickly forming a puddle with his own blood.
He lifted a hand "Estus" he said and I followed his finger to where he pointed. A dull green flask with some kind of liquid inside. I put his head down softly and went to retrieve the flask. I returned to him and propped his head on my lap again while opening the flask, he had his eyes closed now and I was beginning to worry. I put the flask to his lips and tilted it only managing to spill the liquid. I gritted my teeth. Oh for fucks sake. I spilled the rest of the liquid into my mouth. Bitter. I pressed my lips to his tears stinging at my eyes, wake up Alex. I sighed in relief as he gulped down the liquid and watched in amazement as his wounds healed.
His eyes were still closed but he seemed to be okay now, surely whatever had happened on this bridge was something I couldn't fathom.
