Alex P.O.V

The roar tore through the sky and I took off running towards a small pocket in the bridge to the right where there was a set of stairs going downwards.

Evelyn P.O.V

The ground shook and a roar erupted from above tearing me from my thoughts and my eyes were drawn to the bridge. I saw Alex run before all hell broke loose, the bridge was engulfed in a layer of fire. My eyes widened as I screamed "Alex!" "I'm fine, stay there." I heard him yell faintly. I sighed, he was always leaving me behind. I touched my lips, but it was kind of worth it. If he hadn't left me behind then would I have....NO NO NO you're looking for the boy remember?

Alex P.O.V

Shit man. Almost burned me to a crisp. Down the stairs there were two doorways. One to the left leading down a second set of stairs while the other lead onto what seemed like the bottom part of the bridge. Left seemed more appealing as going down usually lead to a way to return upwards and I needed to get to Evelyn as soon as possible. The stairs led to a ladder which I kicked down. Descending down the ladder I looked around realizing I was back in the first bonfire room. Great now I just had to go get Evelyn.

~Time skip because I'm a lazy shit~

After walking the same route I had taken before with Evelyn, I approached the familiar looking door leading to the large bridge. Before I exit the door however I heard a voice, more specifically Evelyn's voice. I listened as she continued to mumble to herself. "Why do you keep thinking about it, it was only a kiss nothing special, and he wasn't even awake. That's right, it was to save him, nothing more nothing less." Kiss? When had that happened and with who? I stood still and listened but I couldn't hear her say anything else so I decided to walk out. Her head snapped in my direction and I saw a few tears before she turned away, "You scared me.." her voice quivered. "I'm sorry?" I questioned. Her head twirled in my direction once again and she blew up? "I'm sorry?! That's all you can offer?! I thought you died for a second there!!!" Her tears were still coming down and she was fuming, what I was about to try may cost me my life.

I slowly walked closer to her and wrapped my arms around her. She fought me and first but soon calmed down and wrapped her arms around me as well and pressed her face into my chest. I rubbed her head, "I'm fine Evelyn. I'm here." She didn't respond. I stood there for a few minutes with her pressed into my chest. "Evelyn, we need to go..." I started to explain. She shook her head no and held me tighter. I looked around, seeing Solaire, I quietly called out to him. I saw him twitch and turn facing me and Evelyn. I pointed down at Evelyn and mouthed the word help. He simply chuckled and returned to gazing at the sun. I looked back down at Evelyn and gave up accepting we wouldn't be going anywhere soon. I moved us near a wall and slide down it until I was sitting and Evelyn was still burying her face. She was surprisingly stubborn when it came to this.

After about five minutes of me sitting staring off into the distance I noticed Evelyn's grip had gotten softer. I looked down and sure enough she was asleep yet again. I sighed and looked in the direction of the bridge where the dragon that had almost made me a flaming piece of charcoal earlier was. The dragon had perched itself on a building at the other end of the bridge and I doubted he would let me pass unscathed. I leaned my head on the wall, I could circle back around but it would take longer than simply walking across the bridge. Well, whatever. I looked down at the sleeping girl once again, she was drawing my closer once again when I wanted to push her away. I flinched as memories of blood Flickered through my head. I couldn't get close to her again. I sighed as I poked the sleeping girl. Her eyebrows came together in confusion and discontent before she opened he eyes. "Wake up, we should keep moving".
