The Ladies' Tea Party and Two Unwanted Meetings with Lord Doyle

When I got back to Lord Doyle's place everyone in the kitchen was running around franticly.

"What's going on?" I asked setting both baskets of groceries down.

"Both Ladies just said they have a Tea party planned for today and they never told us!" Niki said grabbing some sugar from the pantry.

"Why wouldn't they give you a heads up?" I asked as I looked around for some way to help.

"Apparently they never give heads ups." Mary explained.

"Here. The guests have arrived. I need you to take this tea pot out their and the sugar and cream. Tell them the scones and cakes will be out in a minute." Ben said. handing me a tray.

"ME?" I squeaked.

"Yes you silly. You'll do fine." Niki said kissing my cheek.

I blushed and was about to say something but she shoved me out the kitchen door.

When I got into the dining room I saw that it was decorated with very expensive decorations all cordinated so it would look even MORE expensive.

Lord Doyle's already using my mother's money it seems. I thought to myself. To bad I'd be able to claim it all in 2 years and he'd go bankrupt.

All the girl's stared at me as I placed the tea tray in the center of the table.

"Who's that?" A small blondie asked.

"That's our stepbrother." Lady Quinn scoffed.

"He's cute." another girl whispered.

I rolled my eyes and continued to set out the sugar and the cream and pass out dishes.

"How old is he?" A girl with black hair, who was sitting next to Lady Ranii, asked.

"16 I think." was her answer. "Dad's planning on marrying him off to the princess in three months."

"What? But we're just as elegable!" A burnett complained.

"Oh shut up Amris. He probably wants to marry someone older then you." Lady Ranii snapped.

I had a feeling they'd forgetten I was in the same room so I coughed and said. "Lady Ranii that was very unlady like.What would your father say? And to answer your question Miss Amris I don't really get to choose who I marry. Now if you'll all excuse me  Ihave to got get your scones and cakes."

At that I turned on my heel and strolled out. When I got back into the kitchen Ben handed me the scones and cakes and I went. placed then on the table, and walked back out. Lord Doyle showed up right as I was about to go check on the horses.

"What do you want?" I growled.

"I just wanted to see how you're getting along." He said.

"I'm FINE. Now LEAVE." I spat.

"OK. Whatever." He said tapping my shoe with his cane and leaving.

"I really don't like him." I said under my breath as I walked out into the yard.

It was time to go see how the horses were doing.

When I got to the stable there was Lord Doyle. At that point I was really debating wheather to just sock him in the gut or put up with him until he'd leave me alone. The jerk.

"I JUST told you I was fine around 5 seconds ago." I said as I started walking to the pasture.

"Well I heard from Ian that Autum was expecting so I came to see how you were treating her." He explained.

"Well she's not in the stable right now." I said.  "I was just going to check on her in the pasture."

I'd decided not to punch him. That would make me lose some more meals.

Withoug another word Lord Doyle limped back to his house.

I went to the pasture and found that the horses were enjoying themselves. Just watching them made me smile. I ran back to the kitchen and swiped an apple. I was going to try and make friends with Velvet.
