Ready to eat?

Chapter 9

          Nothing answered. Then, the person hiding behind the rock came out. It was Jene. Rain ran towards him and gave him a big bear hug.

            '' I'm glad you're here Jene.", Rain said.

         '' I was going to let you go by your selves but, I couldn't trust that cat to keep you safe. So I had to come along with you guys.", Jene answered. They were both happy at that moment.Then Liam disappeared.

       '' Don't worry about me I just turned myself into a mouse so I would be to small for the keekkers to smell me", Liam explained. He was right he had turned himself into a mouse. They looked at him oddly.

   "How did you do that Liam?", Rain asked.

    '' Magic.  I could turn you if you wanted to.", Liam squeaked. Rain and Jene looked at each other. Jene new that Rain was willing to take the risk and was he. They looked at each other again and nodded.

      '' Can we trust you?", Jene asked.

      '' You can more than trust me Jene", Liam said. 

      '' Alright. Then turn me and Jene into mice", Rain said. Liam nodded and started whispering in a different language. Then both Rain and Jene felt a like a bolt of electricity passed right by them. They both dropped to the ground at the same time. They looked at Liam. He was as big as they were. Then they squeaked in horror  when they looked at themselves. They were tiny brown mice! Liam was saying the truth. Rain was overjoyed but, Jene was a little annoyed. Rain went closer to Jene. SCREEEEECH!!

   They keekkers were coming. Rain and Jene ran to Liam.

   ''Don't worry, they dont want prey as small as us.We'll wait until the attack is over and then well follow the keekker to get more information about them", Liam squeaked in a relaxed voice. For some wierd reason Liam maded Rain and Jene feel safer then they ever were. He's doing all this for us and all we do for him is make things harder Rain thought. Then a voice came to her all of a sudden, follow the cat, he will help you. We need your help Rain, and you need his. Rain looked around, no one was there talking to her.

     "What's wrong?" Jene asked.

     ''Nothing, I just thought I herd something", Rain answered. What was that? Rain thought. It was the same voice that she had heard when she tried to commit suicide. All she knew was it was trying to keep her alive and it wanted her help.Rain looked at Liam and felt curious.
