Saturday- the day my life shall change forever.
Nah, today was just the day I go out on that date with Marcus.
And lemme just tell you this, I'm not that thrilled about it.
"Hold still!" Jami snapped, running a straightener threw my short hair, making it lay flat. "I can't help it! It's hurts!" I whined.
Jamie was in my room helping me with my "look" for tonight.
We couldn't agree on a outfit, since I wanted to just be casual but yet she wanted be to dress up.Finally, after many years and many battles, after many lives had been lost and blood spilt, we decided on a out fit.
I looked down at my light blue crop top with a black tank top underneath, skinny jeans donned my legs and Jamie managed to style my short hair, and by style, I mean pulled it back in a shiny clip.
I was really only going because of 1)Jamie
And 2) for that stupid #6 on the listJamie lead my down stairs and when my mom saw me she burst into tears. I don't think it was because of the outfit, I think it was because for years she had been trying to get me to go out with someone to have the experience of love. I smiled a little as she hugged me.
"Be good ok honey? Come home at 12 and not a minute later. Don't let him-" I cut her off before she could embarrass me in front of Jamie. "I know mom. I love you. Bye." I said, peaking her cheek then heading out the door.
Jamie hugged me once and said a quick good bye before heading towards her convertible.Lucky duck
I waited a few minutes before Marcus drove up in his Lexus.
Sweet baby of God.
I smiled at him and climbed in."Hi." I said, Marcus gave me a once over, then nodded and smiled back before starting the car.
He looked just like the picture Jamie showed me, but I of course wasn't going to let looks fool me. Pfft.
We arrived at the restaurant he booked and walked in. "You ever been ere before?" He asked, looking anywhere but me. I remembered coming here a few times, mostly with my dad.
I frowned and swallowed the lump growing in my throat. "Yeah." Was all I said before following the hostess to our table.
"So, you were homeschooled right? That's what every one is saying." Marcus finally broke the silence and I nodded. "Yeah, high school is so strange. You see all these movies about high school but you never really think that it's kind of true." I said, chuckling. He laughed also but stopped when our waiter came.
After we ordered our food we talked comfortably with each other about school and new movies and what not.
But soon, it turned to families.
"My dad left when I just finished 8th grade, now it's just me and my mom." I said, answering his question about my home life. Marcus gave a small smile before patting my hand. "Any idea um, why he left?" He asked.Well hello mr nosey posey.
My dad had left two days after I had been diagnosed, he didn't want the stress of bills and seeing his little girl dying, so he did the cowardly thing and left us. But of course I'd be crazy to tell Marcus that. So I just shrugged and shook my head.
