Chapter 1

Be Dave ==>
I quietly sighed and gently tugged at the ace bandages around my chest. God they fucking hurt. Dammit, Bro is going to be so much more pissed at me than he normally is. I looked up at the apartment building I lived in and walked inside before making the long climb to the top floor.  The elevator has been broken for god knows how long and no one actually gives a rat's ass to fix it.  After about ten minutes of stairs I got the apartment door. I very quietly opened it and peeked inside seeing all the lights were off. I quickly snuck inside and hid in my room being careful of the various puppets lying around. Twenty minutes passed of silence throughout the apartment so I decided to pack my clothes and anything else I might need. I had a friend who wouldn't mind me spending the night. Thank god for Egdork. I'm so glad he has no idea what kind of situation I was in. But then I'd have to explain why I'm running away. Okay, okay, relax, I have like 2 whole other friends. I was trying to clear my head when my bedroom door slammed open.

I walked inside of our small house and heard some noise from the tv. I glanced into the living room seeing Cronus Ampora, Kankri's boyfriend. He was okay, we never really talked that much but he seemed to make Kankri happy so I didn't complain. He slightly waved at me and I did the same to him before I walked into the kitchen seeing my brother. I was right, he was making dinner, when he noticed I was there he gave me a slight smile. "Hell9 Karkat, h9w was y9ur walk?" I kinda shrugged and sat at the kitchen table, "It was fine, it's actually really fucking nice out." He nodded, "Language please, I'm making y9ur fav9rite, it sh9uld 6e ready in a69ut 20 minutes." I quietly sighed and nodded before deciding to retreat to my room to avoid more shitty socialization. Don't get me wrong, Kankri has been much better at conversations since he met Cronus. Another reason why I don't fucking complain about him, but he can still talk your ears off sometimes. I sat on my bed and looked at a few of my movie posters hanging on the walls. I slightly smiled remembering when my dad and I would stay up late watching them together. Okay, shit, that was really fucking sappy. Whatever, I really miss him. After a while I walked back out of my room to see Kankri and Cronus watching a movie together. I snuck into the kitchen and made a plate of food for myself before going back to my room.

I stared at the silhouette in the doorway of my bedroom absolutely terrified. He was just standing there and was dead silent only making it worse. The next thing I knew I was on the ground with my Bro kicking me in the gut until I passed out. When I woke up I was on my bed with no clothes on. I looked up and around seeing it was now morning and Bro was gone. Great. Just great.
