Fuck. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. I quickly stand up and use sign language to apologize to who ever I bumped into. They looked up at me looking like they were about to yell, but stopped when they saw me signing. This person looked like a male about the same age as me. Maybe we go to the same school? The guy stood up as I continued signing. 'shit, sorry I didn't see where I was going, are you alright, dude?' he paused and then started to sign back, 'yeah, I'm fine, you're you okay? You seem to be in a rush.' I hesitated and then jumped turning my head to a tree, just a squirrel Dave. Just a squirrel.

Damn, this guy is paranoid. "Calm down.. Its just nature being an asshat." he looked up at me seeming really upset and possibly embarrassed. Okay so he's not deaf. Or maybe he is and he just happened to look up at me when I said that. I decided to ask. "Are you deaf?" he shook his head 'I can hear you just fine, I just choose not to speak' I nodded. "Right, you didn't answer my question." he paused, 'What was the question again?' Wow, holy shit this guy is forgetable. "I asked if you were okay, you look like you're in a real hurry." He hesitated and then replied 'Im late for something. You look familiar, do I know you from somewhere?' I looked at him and then shook my head "I don't think so, my name is Karkat Vantas." his face made an expression of realization. 'Oh, chill, I'm Dave Strider, we go to the same shit school.' I softly chuckled and nodded. "Oh don't we have a few classes together?" Dave nodded 'Yeah, I think so' I nodded in response. "Alright, What grade are you in, I don't see you in any other hallways, I'm a Junior." his face didn't make an expression, it was stoic, or maybe he was deadpanning at my stupidity. 'Yeah, I'm a sophomore.'

Shit, this guy is really hot.  God damn I am gay. Er, wait, girls are still pretty hot too. Fuck, I'll look it up later. He was staring at me, did he ask a question? Fuck, fuck, fuck, well he must have noticed because he started talking again. "Well you should really get going since you said you were late for something." I nodded quickly and glanced around. 'Do you know what time it is?' He pulled out his phone and checked the time. "Its almost 6:30." as soon as he said that I flash-stepped out of his sight. I am so screwed, I hope to god Bro isn't home, or at least asleep if he is. I glanced behind me seeing Karkat gone. Karkat, what kind of name is Karkat? Car-cat. Heh, beep beep meow. Vroom vroom hiss. What the fuck am I doing? I sighed to myself and pulled out my earbuds and ipod. I'll runaway tomorrow, I need an actual plan.

I looked up but Dave was gone. What the shit? I glanced around not seeing him anywhere. I kinda just shrugged it off and started walking home. He'd probably be at school tomorrow, and Kankri was probably making dinner.
