This was it. This was the big day. The day I finally worked up the courage to ask my girlfriend's dad to marry his daughter. I'd arranged for him to come over to mine and said I had something to tell him but refused to go into detail. I wasn't sure how he'd take it since we've only been dating for a year but I believe this is the right time and I was told by Ally that Lauren has been talking about marriage for a while.

I was pulled away from my thoughts by a knock on the door. Oh shit that's him. I ran to the door, greeting Mike. "Hey Mike how're you doing?" "Good good and you?" "Yeh I'm gr-great" I stuttered getting more and more nervous. "You sure buddy? You seem a bit tense. Is something wrong?" "Um no no it's just th- I Uhhhh needed to ask you something". Great. How was I meant to ask him if I could marry his daughter if I couldn't speak??? Mike starred at me confused. "Um you know it's better if you sit down". Mike took a seat on the couch while I paced up and down the floor.

"Y/N?" "Yeh?" I stopped pacing and jerked my head to look at him. "Can you tell me now? You're kinda freaking me out". "Oh uh yeh yeh yeh of course yeh ok". "So?" I gulped. "Um I'm in love with your daughter". Mike gave me a weird look. "Really? Never would have guessed" he said sarcastically. "I was won-.... I was just-....... I wanna marry Lauren". Mike facial expression completely changed and he got up from the couch. Wait? Is this not the right way to ask? Does he not approve? I then felt two arms wrapped around me. He's hugging me! "I would be more than honoured to call you my son-in-law". I sighed with relief. "Really?" "Of course Y/N, you love my daughter, you treat her well, you two are in love. I see no reason for you not to get married". "Wow th-thank you" I stuttered, happy that he approved. "I wasn't sure how you'd take it, with it only being a year since we started dating and all". "Y/N I've known since the day she introduced us to you that you were the one for her. The way she looked at you, the way you looked at her, it wasn't like the past boyfriends she's brought home. It was different." I smiled at the thought. "Well when I met her I hoped she would be the one." "Well she is so now we've got to tell the others and get started on a proposal plan!"
