First Date

I put on a plaid shirt over my plain white t-shirt before lacing up my converse. Today I was taking Lauren Jauregui, a girl from school, on a date. I walked out to my car and texted Lauren to tell her I was on my way.

When I arrived at her house I knocked the door. A few seconds later Lauren opened it. "Hey Lauren you look amazing, ready to go?" "Yes" she said excitedly while taking my hand as we headed to the car.

On the drive I put on The 1975 as I remembered Lauren saying something about liking them. "Y/n where are we going?" I smirked at her. God she was so cute when she was excited about a surprise. "I can't tell you that would ruin the point of me making it a surprise". "Ugh that's so unfair". "Hey you did say 'surprise me' when I asked what you wanted to do!" She giggled at my comment and blushed.

I finally pulled up beside a forest. Lauren stares at me confused. "Y/N what are we doing here?" "You'll see". I grabbed her hand and led her down a path until we reached the spot is prepared for us. Lying in between two trees was a blanket with food. "Oh my god Y/N this is so cute". I smiled at her happy that she liked it.

We sat there eating and drinking and talking about life for a while. It started to get dark. We ended up getting very close and I now had my arm wrapped around her waist. "Y/N?" "Yeh?" "Do you ever look at a star in the sky and wonder how something can be so beautiful?" I smirked. I loved Lauren's mind and her deep thoughts about the world around her. I liked her sense of wonder and awe at the little things. Finally I replied. "Yeh, but it's not just stars that are beautiful to me". "What do you mean?" She asked looking at me. I lifted my hand and pushed a few hairs off of her face. " I mean that I think you're beautiful". "Prove it". She didn't have to tell me twice. I leaned into her slowly as our lips connected. She smiled through the kiss and when we finally stopped she put her head on my shoulder and we cuddled there for another while until it was time to go.

"Tonight was amazing Y/N. Thank you". "It's no problem" I assured her before kissing her cheek twice and then pecking her on the lips. "I guess I'll see you at school on Monday?" I smiled "I guess you will".
