Bully

Y/N's POV
I was walking through school before lunch with my friend Jake when I heard shouting and chanting. As Jake and I are always curious to see what's going on we immediately ran over to the large crowd of people to watch the fight. Only it wasn't a fight.....

"You're so fucking pathetic not even defending yourself" "Kill your self please it'll make everything better for us" "When are you going to just die?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing and seeing. The school bully Brad was beating Lauren Jauregui, the school nerd for no apparent reason while his so called friends shouted insults at her. "Pl-please stop you're hurting me" I saw her face properly for the first time and realised that her nose was bleeding. Normally I try and stay out of this business as I've tried to make my way through school just making peace with everyone. That means no close friends, apart from Jake who I've known since I was a kid, and no enemies. But this time I couldn't accept it. The truth was I had a little bit of a crush on Lauren but I obviously would never admit that to anyone because telling the school you have a crush on the school nerd is not a great way to keep a low profile.

"Ow please st-stop!" I was shaken out of my thoughts by Lauren's pleas and I reacted quickly. I shoved through the crowd and grabbed Brad by the neck and repeatedly punched him. "Stay the fuck away from her do you hear me?" The whole corridor fell silent. Brad released himself from my grip and walked away, the crowd, including Jake, dispersing to lunch.

"Thank you" I smiled at Lauren. "It's ok" I reached my hand out for her and she took it. I guided her to the girls' toilets, which I probably should not be in but who cares, and wiped the blood from her face. She was looking at me with tears in her eyes. "You don't have to do this" "yes I do" "No he was right to beat me in worthless". I got so damn angry when she said that. "Lauren you are not worthless, ok? Don't think that about yourself just because of people like Brad." "Bu-but I have no friends, I've never dated anyone, and I get bullied everyday". I looked into her eyes and saw the pain. Suddenly I did something that I wouldn't normally do. I hugged her. And it wasn't some lame ass excuse for a hug, it was real. She held onto me very tight and we stood there for a while. She started to cry then so I decided to hold her tighter.

After she'd calmed down I let go of her and looked into her eyes again. "Lauren?" "Yeh?" I smiled awkwardly at her. "Do you maybe wanna meet up sometime?" "Yes! Yes I do!" "Awesome, um..." I got a piece of paper out of my bag and wrote down my number. "Text me and we'll arrange something" She smiled at me and hugged me again. "Thank you Y/N" "Lauren there's no need to thank me, I really do wanna spend time with you". "Really?" She seemed so shocked. "Yeh honestly I've been wanting to talk to you for a while". "That makes me happy" She smiled a really cute smile that make me blush. "I'm glad that I make you happy" I kissed her forehead and grabbed her hand leading her to lunch.
