Chapter Thirteen: Out (Katie)

I heard a beeping noise and some mumbling.

I tried to go back to sleep. I really did but it was all starting to get really annoying.

Not to mention that I felt horrible. My side was killing me.

Wait. What is that beeping noise? There shouldn't be a beeping noise.

Why is there one? Why do I hear it? And who's talking?

Is it Megan?

That can't be right. I'm still in the elevator with Josh.

So then why is Josh talking to him self?

Did I fall asleep on him while he was talking to me?

Oh, now I feel kind of bad.

"Mmmm..... sorry Josh." I mumbled.

"Ahh." I heard a gasp.

What?

"Josh?" I questioned.

Nothing. He didn't reply. Why didn't he reply?

Slowly peeking a glance, I quickly shut them again. It was really bright. Waiting a few, I tried again. I forced my eyes to stay open this time.

I was in a bright room. And it was mostly all white. There was a tv in the corner of the room but hanging up in the air. Odd.

On the other side was a huge window. The curtains were closed and when I looked down saw a figure sitting there in the chair wide eyed.

What?

Am I in a hospital? How did I get here? When did I get here? Where's Josh? And who is-

"Megan!" I called out to her.

I watched as a slow smile came to her face and a watched as a tear fall from her face.

Slowly she got up and moved the chair closer to me. When she reached me, she sat back down and grabbed my hand.

"Hi, Katie." She smiled.

She's being really calm. Why?

"Megan." I said. I felt like I was about to cry. Why, I don't know. Maybe the fact that I know I got out and that I can finally see my sister.

"I'm soo glad you're out of there. How are you feeling?"

"Mmm.. me too. Uh, sore. What happened?" I asked.

"Do you need more pain killers? I can call the nurse."

Lying there, I watched as she called the nurse. When the nurse came in I sat there and watched the nurse work. She added more pain killers to my i.v. and she asked me a few questions.

"How are you feeling now?" She asked when the nurse left.

"I'm fine Megan. Stop worrying."

"Stop worrying? Stop worrying! I couldn't stop worrying! How could I have stopped worrying? And now you're in here. Yeah I know you're going to be fine, but I can't stop thinking about everything."

A second later she flew her self at me and hugged me. Tight.

"Megan. Megan. You're squishing me..." I said, trying to breath.

"Opps sorry. I couldn't wait to do that."

I nodded.

After a while, I sighed.

"What?" Megan asked.

"Nothing." I replied.

"What did you want Katie? I know you." She said staring at me.
