Chapter 26

Jennifer's POV:
I saw everyone dancing, the whole room looked elegant with the twirls of people dancing gracefully.

I was standing at the end of the room watching everyone dance when a raspy and dark voice from behind asked me "Care to dance, Miss?"

I turned around to find a tall muscular man standing with one of his hand out for me to take.

He wore a green suit with a white T-shirt and a green and red mask only showing his dark grey eyes. He was surrounded with dark aura.

Though I have never met this man before, looking at him made me shudder. Then too I took his hand, not to disrespect him.

His hands were ice cold signaling that he was a vampire. We got to the dance floor and he pulled me a little closer by putting his hand on the small of my back. One of my hand was in his and other was kept on his shoulder.

Slowly we begin to dance. All the time my heart was beating wildly in my chest. He said nothing just kept a firm gaze on me. Minutes by minutes I begin to feel more and more nervous but didn't spoke a single word.

Soon the song was over and he bowed down, kissed my hand and walked away.

Again I went at the end of the room to calm my racing heartbeat and decided that this was my last dance for the night.

But soon Joseph came to me with his heart melting smile and asked in a husky voice "Would you do the honour of dancing with me, Jennifer?" All the previous thought of the stranger and the decision of no dancing went away as soon as my black eyes found it's way to his blue ones.

He held out a hand for me and I gladly took it with a warm blush spreading on my cheeks.

As soon as my hand touched his, small butterflies attacked my stomach and the place where his hand was holding mine, begin to tingle.

I looked at Joseph who had mixed emotions of happiness, hurt and anger on his face.

A total of one minute passed but none of us said anything but at last in a cold voice he said " I am sorry Jennifer, but I need to go an important work came up".

There was a look of disappointment in my eyes and I guessed that he noticed it, because for a moment his eyes softened but again in a flick of a moment they returned back to coldness and without saying anything else he turned around and walked away into the hallway towards the stairs.

Kevin and Lucas who I supposed have looked at what happened took off behind Joseph.

I was in my own bubble, thinking if it was me who spoiled his mood or something else when my eyes caught glimpse of someone going towards the hallway. It was a girl in a flowing purple dress with a purple and black mask hiding her identity.

I don't know what was that, that was intriguing me to that girl, but still I went after her.

As soon as I reached the hallway, I saw that, that girl was standing at the far end of the hallway looking straight at me.

She took off her mask and a gasp came out of my mouth. "Aa..Anna" I whispered tears falling down my cheeks.

There stood Anna, tears falling down like river on her cheeks. Her face an expression of pain and a small smile for me. She looked more thinner and paler than she used to.

Suddenly a strong gust of wind came blowing a person with super speed came and took Anna away with them.

"Noo......., Anna..." I cried, running to the spot where she was standing at, but to no avail, she was no where to be seen.

Last thing that I remember was that someone caught me before the darkness surrounded me. I felt tingles running down my back, and then I went unconscious.
