My hand was shaky as I tapped the three unfamiliar numbers into the keypad of my phone. It lit up in response, as the dial tone erupted from the speaker. I sucked in a heavy breath, before hearing an indistinct whispering on the other side of the line.
"This gang just kidnapped my friend!" I sobbed out, pushing my voice to edge with hysteria.
"Where are you?" the rough voice on the other line quickly asked.
"At the old abandoned factory for bacon!" I exclaimed, before letting fake tears stream down my face. I quickly cut the line, and kicked open the door I was standing in front of. The wood creaked in protest as I pushed it out of the way, and I quickly bolted from the entrance.
My footsteps were quiet as I searched through the dark for any sign of Jay. As I continued down the hallway, I caught a glimmer of light from underneath a closed door. Taking a deep breath, I walked up to the door silently, pressing my ear against the cold wood. I could hear muffled footsteps pacing across the floor.
Taking another breath, I kicked the door open. The wood splintered underneath my rage, and light flashed into my eyes, blinding me. As soon as I could see again, my eyes widened in surprise at what awaited me.
It was Jay.
And he was holding a knife to my throat.
