"Adrianna," a cold voice announced, "the council feels as if you have been neglecting your duties as the leader of the Cobras."

Hot anger rose inside me, as I angrily glared at my screen, as if I was capable of incinerating objects with a look. It didn't spontaneously combust.

Oh well.

"Did they mention why," I asked him through gritted teeth, my nostrils flaring, "they feel this way?"

"You have made the Sharks into an even greater adversary then before, and you have made no progress in dismantling their gang to further establish our own," he reported, causing me to roll my eyes.

"The Sharks have an insolent leader, with an immature heir. They pose no real threat. And I have figured out where some of their organization is inhabited. Along with that, the name of his son is in my possession. With more research, and time, I will be able to crush them," I informed him, attempting to keep my voice monotonous.

"There has been no proof of any of what you have just said. We need progress, otherwise we will-" he continued to speak, slowly.

"You'll what?" I cut him off, yelling angrily into the speaker. "You'll take away the only thing my father left for me? The only way you get this gang is if you fight me, and kill me."

"We understand-" he tried to begin in an attempt to appease me.

"No. You understand nothing," I told him coldly, pressing the red button. I slammed my head against the steering wheel in front of me, an uninvited sob wracking my body.

I allowed myself to wallow in my weakness for another moment, before turning the key in the ignition. A single tear streamed down my face, before I hastily wiped it away with my hand.

My car quietly rumbled, as I backed up, out of the driveway. As soon as I had my car aligned parallel to the trees lining the curb, my car shot forward.

I couldn't lose the gang. The gang was my father's legacy.

It was irreplaceable.
