Larry's POV:
When we returned to Miami, I invited Mya over my place. She kept thanking me over and over for inviting her to California. Mya was throwing hints she was in the mood for my good loving. But I was in the mood for something else...the truth. Mya sat on my lap and nibbled on my earlobe."Hold up, baby. We need to talk." I said as I moved Mya's hand from under my shirt.
"Alright, so what's up?" Mya asked with lustful eyes.
"I just wanted to let you know I care about you very much. I was informed about something. And I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. Have you been honest with me?" I asked.Mya moved from my lap to my side. She took a deep breath and paused.
"Look at me, babe. Tell me." I said as I gently tilted her chin up.
"Before I say anything, I want you to know that I love you very much. After I met you in Orlando, I met a woman named Candice. Over time, I grew close to her. Like a friend. I agreed to kinda be a look out. Falling in love with you was not part of the plan. I tried not to fall in love with you because I'm best friends with your ex-girlfriend Denise." Mya explained.I couldn't believe my ears. Laurent was right.
"Are you serious?" I asked and stood up from the couch.
"Larry, I am so sorry. You gotta believe me. I never met to hurt you." Mya pleaded.
"You knew all along. And to think I trusted you!" I yelled.
"You can still trust me, babe." Mya replied as she stood up behind me.When she attempted to rub my shoulder, I quickly moved away from her. I was so angry. I hated to be lied to.
"Larry, please, listen to me." Mya begged with tears in her eyes.
"No, you listen! I welcomed you into my home. Introduced you to my family! I helped you have a better life. And this is the thanks I get! I thought you cared for me!" I yelled as my voice began to break from the sadness developing in my heart.
"I do care about you. I just wish we didn't meet the way we did. But I'm glad it happened. I would never met you. I would have never found love." Mya replied in a shaky voice.
"I wish I never would have met you. Now, get out." I demanded and pointed to the door.Mya rushed into my arms and begged me to not let go.
"GET OUT!!"
Mya jumped back in utter shock. She busted out crying and ran out of the house. As I stood in the living room, I could hear her car wheels spinning fast. I ran to the window and watched her drive away in full speed. I was so mad, I didn't know what to do with myself. I marched upstairs to my room and snatched my keys off the dresser. As I ran down the stairs, I could hear Laurent say,
"Hey, where you going?"
I ignored him and left the house. I wasn't sure where I was going, so I kept driving straight. After an hour of driving with my thoughts, I parked in a parking lot of a bar. I walked to the main counter and dropped my head on my arms. Someone tapped my shoulder and asked,
"What would you like to drink?"
I looked up and saw it was Bennie.
"Bennie! What the hell you doing here?" I yelled.
"I work here. The question is what you doing in a gay bar?" Bennie mentioned.I was shocked I drove all the way to the other side of town.
"I should just leave." I said and got up from the stool.
"No, don't go. It's alright. Ain't nobody gonna mess with you...for now." Bennie replied in a low voice.
"Say what?" I quickly asked.
"Nothing. So, what can I get you?" Bennie asked.
"Nothing. I haven't eaten anything. So, I shouldn't drink." I mentioned.
"I got just what you need. I'll be right back." Bennie said and walked into the back of the kitchen.
