Francoeur's Prov

After we are found in the darkness by the lantern baring officers, Odette and I are brought up to the streets once again. My body feels like it's been aching all of my life while sharp pain shoot everywhere but I don't pay mind to it. I only focus on Odettes face as we are finally ushered into the light.
Her cloths are dirt stained and dust coats her mauled hair. Her eyes glassy and fogged, the green meadows inside darkened like rainclouds hovers over them. She looks as though she been through as much as I have. But when she looks to me the fog subsides a little to revel only a few of those gold flacks. They are just enough for my heart to kick and to smile down. That was enough for her to embrace my sour body and her touch made me feel healed in so many ways, never wanting to let her go or let go of me. We were both more than glad that we were alive and together again.
We were interrupted by hurried footsteps and cries of relief. We looked up and everyone was right by our side again Lucille hugged us both and kissed my cheek while drying her eyes while Raoul and Emile embraced us as well, overjoyed.
"Knew you would make it! Wasn't worried one bit!" Raoul said while patting me on the back which I tried not to winc. Lucille gave Raoul a look which set him to say instead "Well of course we were worried but we knew you two weren't going to die down there!" Raoul folded his arms and smiled happily at us both. "What he means is that we're glad your both safe" Lucille said sniffing but grinning taking both mine and Odettes hands. "I would definitely second that!" Emile said thankfully while wiping his forehead with a handkerchief.
"And I graciously third it" commissioner Pate said as he strode up to our group with a few officers in tow. "I'm thankful to see that you two got out alright." He nodded thoughtfully to Odette and I. "Some of my officers discovered an unconscious and a deceased body in one of the many stone chambers. You'll both have to tell me what happened down there, everything has to go on the record" he said as he flicked out a note pad from his pocket. I could feel Odette tenses beside me and I tighten my hold on her waist to hold her closer and she too raped a shaky arm around me. "You've been through a lot tonight but it might be better now since it's still clear in your heads" Pate persisted calmly.
I looked down a Odette and we knew what we were both thinking.

The mystery man is still out there!

We tried to tell Pate and everyone what happened as quick as we could. My encounter with the Louse and Odettes abduction. Odette slowed a little bit describing what she had done to Maynott but she was steady and I held her even tighter for her strength. Then we told about the man in the dark.
"Yes your absolutely right! The culprit must be near at hand. Getting out of those catacombs isn't easy. My men will search the tunnels, exits and streets. Are you sure you don't know what he looks like Franceour?" He asks.
"I'm sorry, the only thing I could see was a tall outline" I said frustrated. "I guess we'll have to do the best that we can with the information we have now" Pate said while stuffing his notebook back into the inside pocket of his coat "I can lend my senses. I have a read on the man but it's faint since I've only encountered the man tonight." I offer. I know the commissioner won't pass up on my inhuman tracking but I also want to track down this madman myself, who put us all through this mess especially Odette. He's still going to be after her and her family if he's free. She quakes slightly in my arms by the frigid, late winter breeze. The night is becoming colder. "If your going after that man I'm coming too" Odette looks at me with a set stare, I know her mind is made up and she will not change it. I nod in understanding.
"It's been too long since I've been in the middle of the action and non of you can stop me from going either" Lucille huffed and pointing her gaze upon Raoul with her last words. Raoul lifts up his hands in defence "Hey, who ever said they'd stop you! We're with you guys, right Emile?" He patted Emile on the shoulder "Absolutly! Let's get that rotten creep and go home! I'm freezing my toes off out here!" He shivered screwing his hat on tighter and slipping deeper inside his coat.
"I guess your task force is ready to move. I have faith in you all but never the less be careful out there. You'll do the right thing if you catch'em" he turned purposefully to leave but stopped and spoke to an officer to his left "First find Mademoiselle Dassiana a blanket of sorts, we don't want anyone catching a fever in this cold!" The officer conferred and pursued his order while Pate marched of shouting more stern commands.
"You know, I think he might be one of the best commissioners of police Paris has ever had" Raoul said thoughtfully. "Well, to follow up Maynott, anyone would be" Emile said.
Odette shivered again but I knew it wasn't from the cold.
"Here you go Mademoiselle" the swift officer said while giving it to her, he hurried off to join the search.
Her hands shock and I can tell they were practically frozen as well so I raped the thick wool around her while she whispered an almost distant thank you.
I want to urge her to stay but I know she wouldn't stand for being left behind. And I know she doesn't want me out there either with my injures but we know it had to be this way.
Our party jumps into action as we move through the streets. It's much tricker finding this man rather than Odette not just because his essence is faint but apart if me doesn't want to find him, for Odette.
He was going on about her family like he already knew everything about her. All this might be something bigger.
I move swiftly in the lead while Odette clasps her hand with one of mine, making good time with my large steps. She's even more determined as I am.
She suddenly halts to cough harshly in a fit but recovers and says in a horse voice "I'm fine, really, it must be from the air in those catocombs.." Lucille rubs her sides to try to warm her. I move to hold her chilled hands but the feeling strikes me....
"His essence is near.." I say looking around us on the side walk. We're in a part of Paris where the alleys are more common and bleaker than most.
"He feels like he's in that direction" I motion to a particularly dark alley across the deserted night road.
We collect ourselves and with slightly more caution enter the almost endless alley made so by the absence of light.
We're soundless except for our footsteps on the unkept cobblestone. Stealthily, a sensation creeps into me. A feeling of something dark almost upon our group.
I turn to face my friends "I'm getting a bad feeling. Someone 'or something' is around us and getting closer. I really think all you should turn back, for safety.." I urge them.
"Screw Safety! Pardon my English buddy but we're not leaving you now" Raoul exclaimed with an exasperated expresion. "We understand that you want to protect us but we want to protect you too! You can't go alone! Strength in numbers!" Emile explained. "And I told you, I never want to loose you again and I'm going to make sure of that!" Lucille said with a stern glare.
Odette brought me closer to her, with a clear view of her flushed face "I love you" she starts and her saying those three words makes all my pains fade and my insides are thrown into a hot inferno "and that means we stick together. We're all a team now and none of use will leave your side...especially me" she says with strength and stunning clarity in her eyes,  stocking my cheek that arouses a flush from them as well.
She presses her lips to mine, they're cold but ever enticing and her embrace is warmer than the sunniest day of summer. I feel like we could disappear into each other and never be unwined. That feeling that always comes when we share our passion for each other is seeping into me. It's like hunger but more maddeningly ravenous. It gets nearer and nearer every time we are set on each other but I never sachem to it, even if I want to.
We release each other from the kiss that was a blessed few seconds but felt like it lasted a beautiful life time, our breath mingle visibly in clouds. I can't help but grin not just from our kiss but from all of their loyalty and devotion for me and each other. A team and family, what could be better to have at your side.
I turn around, greatly optimistic but that sensation is knocked out of me when I'm greeted by a sinister smile unexpectedly emerging from the shadows.
Odette only can let out a gasp before half a second later the monster graves me by the collar, thrusts it's hand inside my abdomen, lifting my body, holding me in the air with another of his hands. Then he bursts through my back with electrifying pain. Blood is dripping down from my mouth and I convulse as the beast tars my insides slowly, retracting his arm. He throws me to the ground as I start to fade.My sight is going black around the edges and breathing is almost an impossible thing. Almost.
I hear muffled and concerning fuzzy voices, and crys of shock "I told you, you wouldn't defeat me."the Louse looms over my crumpled form, still possessing a wicked grin. My thoughts glide past the memories of my family and my love before I slowly start fading into nothingness.

These last chapters are taking a lot out of me! They take like a couple of days to write one! Oh gosh
And keep in mind folks that I don't get a lot of time during the day to write, I usually can only write for a few hours at night.I'm an insomniac but I got to get at least some sleep
I think it's just taking time because there's a lot going on in these chapters and it's where all the key events and action is.
Speaking of key events, get a load of this chapter, am I right!! Haha ya, cliffhangers are fun for authors but not really for readers
