HAPPY FIRST DAY OF WINTER! :D

I know i said to some of you that the first day of winter was December 22, but I was wrong it's the 21st. I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m not going to update this series until probably after Christmas. Sorry for any inconvenience but I plan on spending the next few days with friends and family. Consider this my vacation haha. Anyways I hope all you guys have a blessed Christmas!

Little children skipped down the road in their warm coats and gloves. Their rubber boots leaving frozen tracks in the freshly fallen snow. Your entire street was lined with snowmen and snow forts from past snowball fights. You would've never guessed that Hollow Bastion would have so much snowfall but you'd be mistaken.

Today was the first day of winter, yet Hollow Bastion had already seen nearly 20 inches of snow. You sneezed loudly then took a step back away from the cold window and deeper into your warm home. This morning you had woken up with a cold, but that wasn't very surprising to you since you spent literally all of yesterday outside doing various activities in the snow with all your friends. You passed the calendar hanging on your wall and the date greeted you in big bold characters: TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22.

It only reminded you of how close Christmas was. You were excited about it, yet a bit sad. This would be your first Christmas without your parents. With a sigh you tried to put your mind on other things. Like the fact that this Christmas would be like no other. Not just because you'd be spending it with Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy characters but also because you were following your friend's untraditional version. They had come up with it a few years ago and stuck with it since. What made theirs so different is they didn't buy any gifts. They waited until Christmas day and on that day they would all load up and spend their Christmas in a different world together. You happily agreed to be a part of it not only because it sounded fun but you had no idea what you would buy for each of them anyways. Besides it didn't help that you were nearly flat broke.

You decided to make yourself some soup and in mid-process of cooking said soup someone began to knock rapidly on your door.

"Come in!" You yelled from the kitchen. The door opened wide and after a moment you heard it shut again.

"[Name]!" Yuffie and Sora cried running into the kitchen. You dropped the spoon you were using to stir the soup and turned to them.

"What's wrong?" You asked. You were surprised to see it was Sora and Yuffie. Usually when they come over they just walk in.

"It's the first snowfall!" They both chorused happily.

You turned off the stove and walked into the living room where you saw Leon, Cloud, Ven, Roxas, and Tifa. That would explain why they knocked first. You glanced out the window. True it was snowing, but first snowfall had happened days ago.

"Umm I hate to break it to you guys, but this is like the 18th snowfall." You replied.

They all laughed, Leon included.

"No [Name]", Ven chuckled, "They mean first snowfall in Sector One."

"Oh", You said. They all continued to stare at you. You shifted your weight from foot to foot then replied, "So?"

"So", Yuffie yelled by your ear, "That means The Winter Celebration is going to begin!"

"That sounds familiar", You nodded your head.

"It should, it's the biggest party of the year held in Sector One's main square right in front of the castle." Tifa smiled. "It's always a ton of fun, but this year is extra special."

Before you could ask why Leon answered, "Unlike here, Sector One usually gets their snow really late so when we go to The Winter Celebration it's always after Christmas."

"This year they'll be holding it Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the day after Christmas." Cloud smirked.

"Which means it'll be 100% more awesome!" Sora cheered.

You giggled, "Ok when are we leaving?"

"Tomorrow morning we're meeting at Cid's garage so be packed and ready to go." Leon answered you.

"Who all is going?"

"Me, Leon, Sora, Tifa, Namine, Gabe, Cloud, Ven, Roxas, Terra, Zack, Axel, Reno, Zexion, Xion, Kairi, Riku, Auron, Angeal, Demyx, and Cid." Yuffie counted off.

Cloud rolled his eyes, "So basically just the usual gang."

"What about Lauren, Big C, Olette, Hayner, and Pence?" You questioned noticing Yuffie didn't mention their names.

"Oh Olette, Hayner, and Pence always go somewhere with their families. Lauren and Big C said they wanted to relax a bit more before they traveled to another world." Sora shrugged.

"Ok. I'm so excited now!" You chirped. You still felt sick, but the feeling of happiness and excitement numbed the sickness some.

"We're gonna go tell more people!" Yuffie yelled running out the door. The others followed behind her at a much slower pace after saying goodbye to you.

You walked upstairs and began to pack some of your things. Your eyes glanced over Axel's mother's letter and you picked it up. The letter said she lived somewhere in Sector One. Wouldn't this be his perfect chance? All you had to do was give it to him.

You bit your lower lip and stuck it in your suitcase, still not entirely sure if you planned on showing it.

Instead of getting caught up on that topic you hummed a Christmas carol under your breath and continued to pack.
