You can't really fix or heal 'damaged hair' That's like trying to fix something that's already broken. However, you can prevent your hair from being damaged further.

Early Detection

Find out what state your hair is in. Does it lack protein or moisture? (I will talk more about this in another chapter.)

》Does your hair shed more hair than what's expected? (100 hairs)

》Is your hair shedding or breaking?

Shedded hair has a white bulb at          the end of it.

Hair that has broken off has snapped. It hasn't fallen from the hair follicle (That would show a white bulb) but rather another part of a hair strand. This is due to external forces putting pressure on the hair or bad hair care.

Hair Care Products

Shampoos

The best shampoos to use that are less damaging don't have sulfate. Sulfate strips the hair of its moisture.

Shampoos have different jobs, there are moisturising, clarifying and shampoos rich in protein.

Conditioners

Deep conditioners are best for the hair because they allow time for the product to be absorbed by the hair.

Conditioners containing natural oils like macadamia oil, olive oil etc. are great for rejuvenating the hair.

Moisturisers

Mostrurizing your hair may not seem necessary but it's great for keeping hair soft and supple.

Oils

Extra virgin olive oil, tea tree oil, Argan oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil etc.

Massaging oils into your scalp helps thicken the hair as well as rejuvenate it.

Also, sealing any moisture with oil on your hair strands or on your ends helps prevent hair damage.

Hair Care Tips

》Use products with aqua (water) as the first product.

》Trim your ends if you know you have split ends! Getting a trim every 3 months is also vital to maintain healthy hair.

Split ends can make their way up your hair strands. Causing breakage.

》Don't use products containing mineral oil, this ingredient  prevents any useful ingredients form being absorbed by the hair.

》Leave your conditioner in for at least 10- 30 minutes.

》Wash your hair twice a week or three but no more!

It's damaging and strips the hair of its natural oils.

》Try not to dye your hair often or use chemicals. Leave at least a month before re-dying your hair

》Sleeping on a silk pillowcase prevents hair breakage since its smooth and less abrasive to hair strands.

》Greenhouse method: When deep conditioning put a shower cap on your hair to trap the moisture, creating heat so the product is absorbed better.

》Use a T-shirt instead of a towel to dry your hair. Weird right?

》Try air drying instead of using heat on your hair.

》Use heat protectant when straightening, Curling or blow drying your hair.

》Have good eating habits! Eat your 5 a day, drink plenty of water.

》Excercise!

》Always wash your hair after swimming, or when sweating from working out.

Side note: I will be doing more chapters on hair care including: 'Hair products for damaged hair', 'What does your hair need?', and I may have other chapters.
