Edward makes the decision to leave Katnis after he almost lost control of himself.
Katnis is hurt, heart broken even, by his departure but she understands why he left. He wanted to protect her from himself.
One month after The Cullen's leave Forks...
Katnis and Bella both exited the truck and met up in front of it,"I can't believe you're actually wearing a dress." Bella chuckled.
Katnis looked down at the white dress she was wearing. Her dress hugged her frame and stopped just below her knees with a matching pair of three-inch heels. Despite her dislike for dressing up for any occasion, Katnis was not clumsy in heels. She walked in them as if she's been walking in them since birth.
Bella was dressed in a dark green and black dress that hugged her frame at the knees with a pair of black converses. She, on the other hand, was rather clumsy. She wouldn't be able to walk from her truck to their porch steps without feeling flat on her face.
"Me neither but I was feeling generous." She says,"Now, let's head inside before they send out Alice the Search Party."
Bella chuckles,"You're right."
They make their way to the front porch steps and up them. Before they could knock the door is being thrown open,"Bella! Katnis! Oh, don't you two look beautiful." Esme says, embracing them.
"Thank you." Katnis says
"Thank you, Esme." Bella says.
Jasper appeared at the door, staring at Katnis with a slacked jaw. "Wow," his eyes roamed her small but tall frame. "Katnis, you look...forgive me for staring but you are a sight for sore eyes." he said with a smile.

Katnis turns red under his gaze. "Thank you, Jasper. You look as always...amazing."
He smiles. "Thank you,"

His gaze then drifted towards Bella. "Bella, you look beautiful, as always."
She turns red. "Thank you, Jasper. You look amazing, tonight, also."
"Thank you," he looks behind him and I to the house before turning back towards her. "They're all excited. No one has celebrated a birthday since Emmett,"
Katnis smiles. "Well, now they have two reasons to celebrate."
Jasper smiles, "Yes, they do," he said looking at her before turning back to Bella. "I probably should warn you..."
