"No," Kyle shook his head. "No y-you stabed him."
"But i didn't." The Nightmere said playing thus game knowing he would be in favore of the out come. "You were the one holding the knife. You were the one who plunged it into his heart."
"No. No!" Kyle yelled remembering what Seth's last words.
"Then why are your hands covered in blood and not mine?"
Kyle lifted his hands to see the blood splattered over them. Revulsion slipped over his face. He felt nauseous. His hands were shaking as he stared at them in disbelief. He tried to battle he feeling taking over. Trued to over come the feeling of defeat. But he couldn't fight the fear as it consumed him.
"You know what I'm saying is true. You know you were the one that killed hi-"
"Shut up!" Kyle screamed, anger exploding inside of him as well as fear. "Shut the fuck up!"
"No matter what you tell yourself Kyle, you will always know you did it."
"What do i want with me?" Kyle asked losing the strength he had just held.
"Nothing anymore." And with that the Nightmere disappeared, but his voice still drilled through Kyle's head.
"You can't avert the truth Kyle. You know what you did."
"Shut up!" Kyle yelled clutching his head.
"Why Kyle? Why did you kill yoir brother? Didn't you love him?"
"Get out of my head!"
"I was forcing you to hold the knife but you wanted him dead."
"No, no you're lying!"
"Why? Why did you want him to die?"
"I-I didn't, i swear. I didn't want him dead."
"But you did. You killed Kyle, you murdered your own brother. You murdered him. Murderer." The Nightmere accused.
Kyle was so confused he didn't know what to believe.
Had he killed his brother?
Was it his fault?
He hadn't wanted Seth dead, had he?
"Yes Kyle. The answer to your questions, is yes."
That's when Kyle broke. He couldn't take it anymore. He couldn't live knowing he had killed his brother. A part of his own family.
