Chapter 1

"Wake up already!" A voice called from outside the den of the regular warriors. A groan was heard inside the den. "Sis, it's so early!" The voice complained. "River! Get up and go on territory patrol!" The cat outside the den responded. The cat, River, slowly got up and stretched. "Fine, tell them I'll be out in a minute" River told the cat outside. Rustling leaves signaled the cat had left. "Snow, why do you have to do this to me every morning!" River muttered.

River walked out of the den to see Bone standing, tail twitching with anger,along with Blossom and Ralph. "Sorry..." River whispered. "Next time we're leaving you and you can take care of the camp again" Bone responded in annoyance. "I understand, Bone, I promise it won't happen again" River said back. Bone nodded and led the group out of the camp.

"Why do we patrol here? We never find anything but twoleg trash!" River complained as they were finishing the patrol. "When we get back, you are going to have a talk with me and your father about respect. Just because your father is the leader doesn't give you any more rights than us" Bone growled at River.River hung her head as they walked back to camp. 

"Scourge! Your daughter needs to be taught a lesson about respect!" Bone called out as the group entered the camp. Many eyes landed on River. Snow walked over to River. "How many times have you had this talk?" Snow asked. " Probably about 20 just this moon" River replied. Snow sighed and walked away to continue talking to Flower. "Come into my den River, alone!" Scourge called angrily from the cliff where his den was at.

River slowly walked up into Scourge's den. "For the last time! Stop being so disrespectful! Do you realize how it looks when my daughter is not a proper cat!" Scourge hissed as her struck River's cheek with his Dog-teeth claws. "S-sorry" River stammered. "How about this? I will let you fight Scrape. If you win, you are an elite warrior and can do whatever pleases you. If you lose, well it won't matter, after all you'll be dead" Scourge hissed again, this time striking River's shoulder."I-I'll do it" River stated. Scourge smiled and left, no doubt going to get Scrape. 

River gulped. She walked out of the den. "Bloodclan! Today we have a rank battle! River vs Scrape!" Scourge said. River stepped into the fight area, as did Scrape. "When I'm done with you there won't be anything left of you" Scrape growled. River stared silently, not moving. "3... 2... 1... FIGHT!" Scourge yowled. Scrape instantly launched herself at River. River launched up into the sky.

Scrape managed to pin River to the ground. "This was too easy! You're weak!" Scrape purred in happiness. River struggled against Scrape's grip. River dug her claws as deep as possible into Scrape's belly. Scrape yowled in pain and fell to the ground, releasing River. River quickly finished Scrape off with a killing nip to the neck.All the cats watching stared in shock, including Scourge. River looked at her pelt and realized how badly injured she was. 

"River!" Snow cried out as River fell to the ground. Snow rushed to River's side. "Stay with me, River. Don't die, not now" Snow cried. Flower ordered the crowd of cats to leave. Scourge walked up to River. "Juniper! Heal her!" He ordered. Juniper nodded to Scourge as he grabbed some cobwebs from the dumpster. Juniper applied the cobwebs to the wounds. 

"Will she live, I'd hate to see her die after all that trouble" Scourge meowed to Juniper. His voice showed the consequence Juniper would face if River died. "Bring her to the cave" Juniper told Snow. 

Snow nodded and quickly lifted River onto her back, with the help of Flower. After River had been moved Snow was ordered to leave. She argued, but lost.
