The day had been long. Judy had been slightly warmer with Nick today but they still were not completely comfortable with each other. The two had been put on parking metre duty due to their injuries for half the day and worked on trying to find Mark Swiftfoot for the rest but so far they had found out nothing except a weasel who had, after some persuasion from Nick, stated that Swiftfoot had sold him drugs once. Nick was sure they would be able to find answers on Ava's disappearance from this puma. It was a gut feeling. Now, Nick sat at the bar with Finnick. The sound of clinking was heard over the music playing, as a bar tender took a tray of dirty glasses over to the sink to be washed. Nick tapped his bandaged foot to the beat of the song and sipped his drink. "Ah" he sighed relishing the cool taste of his beer as he set the glass back down on the table, "I needed this. Thanks Finnick." The fennec fox gulped down a quarter of his own drink in one go before replying in his deep tone. "Me too man" he agreed. "So Nick, how you been bro? Man, I still cant believe you're a cop!" Finnick kept the conversation going, shaking his head as he imagined Nick fighting crime. "And what about that little bunny friend of yours eh?" he added slyly, winking at Nick and giving him a friendly yet cheeky nudge. Nick scoffed. "Pfft what do you mean by that?" he asked rhetorically before rolling is eyes and continuing on, "Anyway, I am doing alright thanks. The jobs good. Its exciting and I've got Carrots to keep me company..mostly. Ah and yeah, it-its way better than selling Pawpsicles that's for sure! Although don't think I don't miss seeing you in your cute little elephant suit!" Nick laughed. Finnick raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Mmm" he grunted. Then a smirk lit up is face. "Ah Nick, I kinda miss it too you know. The suit wasn't very...flattering...but we made a pretty good team!" Nick smiled as he reminisced, "Yeah, we sure did." There was a drawn at silence as neither fox spoke but instead thought about the old days and sipped their drinks. Finally Nick broke the silence. "So, what have you been doing with yourself?" Finnick shrugged, "Eh, not much really. A few hustles but it isn't as easy or entertaining as it was with you. Oh wait! Can I say that now you're a cop? You aint gonna arrest me are ya?" For a moment the fennec fox just stared at Nick looking serious. Nick frowned, feeling slightly irritated and discouraged at the fact Finnick would think he would just betray him like that. Then Finnick burst out into laughter. "Oh Nick, I got you there! Nah man, I know you wouldn't do that to your old pal!" Nick relaxed. Of course Finnick was joking. He was always like this and their friendship had not changed just because Nick had made a better life for himself. Had Nick lost his sense of humour? Finnick's laughter eventually died down and he ordered another round of drinks. The two sat, drinking and enjoying each others company as the music went on with the night. The friends talked about many things that night but when morning came around, Nick remembered little of it.
