Raindrops flew violently from the sky outside Taylor's Nashville apartment. As the blonde stared out the window in utter dismay she noted that it had been raining ever since Amara had left.

A crumpled up piece of paper lay in the center on the coffee table and neatly printed on the note,in child like handwriting, was the inscription:

Dear Taylor,
Thank you for being my best friend and for taking me in when I had no one. I love you more than anything and I hope that this note will explain what I didn't say.

I visited my dad at the prison on Monday. Maxine took me. Taylor he looked so ill you wouldn't understand. Maxine gave me an offer and I took it. I essentially traded myself for him. It was never because of you; don't ever think that. My dad will go free because of me. I had to do this. I wanted to stay with you more than anything.

Please don't beat yourself up for this and I will forever love you. Tell the cats and Scott and Andrea and Austin and Lily and Dixie and Karlie bye for me. I will miss them very much.

Maybe someday we'll meet again.. Timing is a funny thing.. Please remember Amy Patel.

I love you..
Amara

Taylor stared at the note, eyes glassy and terribly mad at herself. She had let Amara go so easily. She should have known something was up the second she had come home from New York but she simply chalked it down to Amara being sick. How stupid.

And Maxine. How could one human being be so evil? It was beside her.

She curled up sobbing once again and leaned back into the couch sniffling.
It wasn't long before a pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around her and the living room exploded with chatter. Despite the sadness she felt she half smiled at the small crowd that was gathered in her living room.

Taylor was never a rule breaker, but she had broken one of Maxine's contract rules the second she found Amara's note. If Maxine wanted to play dirty she would too; and therefore from the second the note was discovered Taylor had called Karlie,Adam,Lily,Ed,Tree, her lawyer, and her parents and brother, and at her beckoning they had come at once.

It surprisingly didn't take long to explain what had happened, and her friends and family had offered her nothing but support, comfort, and advice. The group understood that by being here they were breaking Maxine's contract, so the blinds had been drawn and the windows locked and closed.

"Tay?"

A voice startled her out of her thinking and Taylor looked around to find Karlie staring at her with a confused expression.

"Ya Karls?"

Karlie shook her head before looking at Taylor quizzically.

"Who's Amy Patel?"

Multiple heads turned to hear Taylor's answer to this question, but Taylor could think of no answer to give.

"Um..Karlie..I really don't know.. was it a nickname or something? Did anyone give her that nickname?"

Taylor looked around the room in hope that maybe someone would fess up, but everyone just looked confused.

Karlie looked at her friend and then back at the paper, which lay on the coffee table.

"Tay, Amara's smarter than that.. There has to be some reason why she would put Amy Patel".

Taylor thought this over, and inspiration struck her as she pulled herself into a sitting position and grabbed her laptop from the floor. Would Amara have left a clue? Was it a clue or were they all overthinking it? She frantically typed in "Amy Patel" into the Google search bar but nothing came up. Frustrated she tried Amara Patel but there were still no results.

Amara seemed to have disappeared from the face of the earth.

Closing her laptop she shot Karlie a defeated look and sank back into her boyfriend's arms.

Multiple theories and conversations later, there was still no trace of where Amara could have gone. Taylor had tried Maxine and the CIA office's phones, but neither had picked up.

When her mom finally announced that the meeting should end for today, it was 2am and the mystery of Amy Patel still hadn't been solved. Her friends and family laid down sleeping bags on her apartment floor and were soon sound asleep.

Taylor however laid awake tossing and turning. Amy Patel. What was Amy Patel!! Who was Amy Patel???. Taylor didn't know but she vowed to find out. Wherever Amara was, Taylor hoped that she was safe and sound and happy. She was going to get her six year old back somehow... Even if it took a lifetime.
