Monday morning comes a lot faster than I had hoped. Poor Anne is out for another day. She's dreading coming back to work with all her scars from the chicken pox. I took her boys to school and daycare this morning for her. They are such good kids.

I'm sitting at my desk working and listening to the morning show. They are going over their weekends. After a commercial break, Johnny announces that Louis went on his first date since he was presented with divorce papers over the weekend. Lori starts drilling him on who the "lucky girl" was. I am in shock. That was me. I begin to sink in my chair.

Wait! No one knows about it except for Anne. I listen closely to make sure my name isn't said. Thank God it's not! I'm referred to as the "lucky girl" the whole time. I'm a fairly private person and only let a handful of people know absolutely everything about me. This would be more than a handful!

They continue to harass Louis about me and drill him about the date. He refocuses the attention to Michael who was picking up on a set of twins after the show but struck out. Whew! Details averted!

After the show is over, I run to the break room to get more coffee and overhear a couple co-workers talking about said mystery "lucky girl".

"She's gotta be dating him because he's famous!" One says to the other.

"I know, right? He is really good looking, though. Have you seen his picture on the website? We should totally go and sit in the audience to get his attention if he's dating again." The other responds.

Ugh! So disgusting! You can take the girls out of high school but not the high school out of the girls. I'm so glad they don't know it's me.

I turn to leave and almost run into a guy I have never seen before.

"I'm so sorry!" I apologize.

"It's okay. I'm Ashton. It's my first day." He's awfully cheerful.

"I'm Sam. Nice to meet you. Hey! Looks like our day is off to a good start! I didn't spill my coffee!" I smile.

Ashton laughs as I leave to return to my desk. On my way back, my phone vibrates in my pocket indicating a text.

"Morning! :)" It's Louis.

"Morning! :) How are you?" I respond.

"Good. Thanks. You?"

"Good. Just trying to stay on top of things with a co-worker out sick."

"Sorry about this morning."

"What are you apologizing for? What about it?"

"You got brought up. I hope you're okay with it."

"It was a bit shocking. But it's fine. I'm not sure I like my nickname though. :P"

"Ha! Then, we'll have to work on that. :) I'll let you get back to work. Can I call you tonight?"

"I'd like that. I'll talk to you then."

":)" was his last text.

He's so nice! I seriously don't know how to take him. I don't think I've met someone so genuinely nice like that.

The rest of the work day flew by and I round up Anne's boys for her. I filled her in on the day and how I was part of the morning show.

"This is going to make listening to it that much more fun!" She smiles.

"And this just confirms how much we shouldn't tell anyone. After hearing those bitches in the break room, it made me realize how much it was a good idea."
