Chapter 9: "Rose"

"It's never too late or too busy to meet new people"

She was definitely something different, her presence in the room, made it clear.

Her name was, Rose.

As feminine her name was, so was she. Rose was the type of girl who naturally got a curvy body with straight hair, which reached to her hips. Sashaying her hips and catching everyone's attention seemed like a casual thing for her. I wouldn't blame her, she got it all, so go for it.

Rose approached us and sat down. Currently, Vicky and I were in Nandos, to have a girl's day-out. Vicky did mention earlier that she wanted to meet me up with someone. So I believe that someone was, Rose.

Rose is Vicky's best friend in her classes, just similarly as Nora. I believe we should have others around you for your support system. We wouldn't know when another person would be needed for our lives.

After having a great meal for three of us, we roamed around the mall. In the end, we ended going out with our hands full, not empty. Not all girls are the shopping type, but it runs through me and so did for the other two. We blended well in that part.

Reaching home, I was exhausted and my feet was killing me. One minute, I enter the room, the next minute I was on the bed hugging my pillows. Until, my comfort disturbed with my bed vibrating, reaching for the phone as it was buzzing non-stop.

Erik: Hey how was shopping and the day out?

Me: it was good, got a few new things to wear, myself. Oh and met Vicky's friend Rose.

Erik: Oh! You met Rose? That's great to hear

Me: You know her??

Erik: Well, Vicky introduced her to us a while back.

Me: Oh... good to know.

Erik: You okay???

Me: Yeah, fine. Just tired, so I'll go and rest.

Erik: Yeah, totally go ahead and rest. Talk soon. Love you. Bye.

Me: Love you too bye

I felt weird knowing that, I was the only one who knew she existed until now. Seems to me they are quite fond of her. I couldn't quite point on it but I didn't get a good vibe from her. And so I will be on guard for a while.

I know I sounded as if I wanted to get of the conversation quick, well her name didn't bring much happiness to me, so I did get away from the talk. Our conversations weren't this short, but it seems today this will have to do.

Sleep took over me with an open arm, I leaped in to a slumber.

I was woken up from my slumber to my mom calling me. I knew that tone, the tone which is high pitched and making it impossible to return to sleep in any way. Any without further due, Vicky barged in to the room.

'Well 'good morning' to you too' she said and jumped on me. Which wasn't the way a 'good' morning is supposed to go like.

'Now get up and get ready, we are heading out for lunch and we have guests' wiggling her eyebrows she said.

'Oh the joy' I said sarcastically. No point of arguing so I got up to get myself decked up to go for lunch.

Getting out of the car, we were or rather I was surprised we came to a fancy restaurant. And waiting at the doorway was Stephan, Erik and Rose.

I was greeted by Erik with a red rose. Made me feel all happy inside, but genuine to know I have such a caring guy in my life. He took my hand and led me to my seat beside him. Next to me to my left, was Vicky and Stephan, while facing us was Rose and an un-familiar guy. To whom she introduced as 'her boyfriend Jake'. And it turned in to a triple date.

All the time during the date, I felt a piercing stare from somewhere. Someone was staring hard at me, or rather at all of us. I didn't let it get to me and ignored the feeling of being watched.

My attention was brought back to the table when Rose was being all clingy and rather close to Erik. No girlfriend can bare to see her friend getting all cozy with her boyfriend, right in front of her.

'Sara I'm sure you would know that Erik loves photography?? I mean he has so many great shots of things, you should have seen them' Rose beamed.

'Oh yeah, of course I know, who else wouldn't know, I'm his girlfriend' gritting my teeth and said it at her. It seems that it got all of their attention, it became silent in the table. And awkward silence.

The silence was shut out by Vicky, when she started a conversation which successfully got everyone's attention except, mine. My appetite, my meal and my mood was tarnished a few minutes ago.

The meal ended, conversations ended and our date ended as well. To see that, the five of the others truly enjoyed and herself only mopped around in that crowd. Waiting eagerly to reach home and let this frustration out.
