"When life gives you a gift, receive it with all your heart." – Enid Ivanov –

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" was what I woken up to, almost waking up to a mini-heart attack. To realize that it was just my family wishing me. Unlike other families, we don't tend to wake up for midnight strike to wish, we mostly tend wish them the next day. Next day as it's the "birth -day" itself and we won't lose any sleep as we all have a hectic life to wake up for.
I was greeted with my beloved family's gleaming smile and love. All of them wished her and told to freshen up for a good, healthy breakfast before she heads to school. And that's exactly what she did. Instead of boring breakfast was a mini cupcake with the candle in it. Being lit, waiting for me to come and make a wish upon it.
"It's not much, but as it's early in the morning..." Sarah's dad sadly said. Sarah was not sad or bummed out for getting such small cupcake instead of a huge cake. Instead she was happy, at least she got something, and her family wishing her was the hugest gift she could ask for. As that is what shows, how much her family loves her and cares for her. "No, not at all, it's the best I could ask for" beamed Sarah. Which brought smiles and happiness to her small but family.

Entering straight to class, Sarah was welcomed with a bear hug from Nora. Slightly, taken by surprise she took a few minutes to recover with a hug in return, to show that she appreciated. "Happy Birthday Sarah!" holding on to her hands Nora says. Nora was like her second best friend, and just her wishing her, made it less of a boring birthday. Especially, those days where your birthday lands in a weekday and not in a weekend.
Sadly, I had to see for lunch as we were split to our separate classes. Nora headed to Science, while Sarah headed to History. But to be re-united back in literature class, for delusional and romantic people like them. Mr. Harrison was going on about the 'Hitler Era', quite interesting and attention span shortening at the same time.
Sound of music reached to my ears, rather it was sound of the bell, but I survived to see another day. Packing up and heading out to the cafeteria to meet up with Nora, on the way there got a few wishes from students whom she had other classes with. Not all are, favorable, but some are kind.
Entering through the cafeteria doors, Sarah saw Nora waving her hands to the table to corner of the room. Lunch time today, was with Nora and with some of her friends. Gaby, Lydia and Lucy. "Hi" greeting them sitting herself beside Nora. All three eyes wandered to her and smiled with "Hello and hi" in return. After we introduced ourselves with each other Nora announced its Sarah's birthday. "Really... so when the celebration?" Gaby asked excited. "Unfortunately, there's no celebration, it's a school night, high likely I not a free bird on school nights" Sarah told with a sigh. To which she got a disappointed sigh from all four of them.

Sarah reached her porch to see Vicky waiting impatiently for her. When she saw her, she saw the excitement to see her. "Hey, finally... about time you reach home birthday girl" she engulfed her into a hug. "Thanks Vicky, but what are you doing here?" Sarah asked. "Ouch, way to hurt your best friends feelings" Vicky faked out with a hand on her heart. "Don't roll your eyes at me" Vicky poked Sarah and she laughed at her childishness.
"Well to answer your question earlier, I am here to pick up the birthday girl, so that we can go to Silvia's" Vicky says in the calmest way as if there was no big deal to it. Only that Sarah stood there looking like her eyes might pop out of her head. "To... to Silvia's... Why?" Sarah questions. "What do you mean 'why', well first it's your birthday and we should go out, while second because we are going to meet up with your boyfriend Erik" cheekily Vicky ended. "Oh ... like... right now??" Sarah dumbly says. Vicky rolled her eyes and took Sarah upstairs to her room so they could get changed.
"I got it all covered, so you don't take stress and enjoy your birthday" Vicky stares at her reflection and says after she saw Sarah coming out all dolled up. "Okay" Sarah replies uncertainly. Sarah left a note for her family to whomever that reaches home first to see that she let them on for what reason her absence is for. "Going with Vicky to meet up with girls to do Home Science Assignment"

Silvia was waiting for both Vicky and Sarah at her entrance. She gave a sweet smile and gestured us to come in. Vicky was greeted with hug from Stephan while Erik sat and stared with a smile. Natural instinct was to smile back and so Sarah did. Another wish "Happy birthday Sarah" Stephan wishes with a smile and a friendly hug. Erik clears his throat and says "okay... my turn... Happy Birthday Sarah" wished with a glitter in his eyes and gorgeous smile.
As he held her hands, within his, she felt whole. "I got you something" he said excited. "Really?" unexpected Sarah asks. A neatly wrapped up gift was handed to her. Carefully, taking it within her hand, she shook to see if it makes any noise, no noise but was soft. "Go on, open it" he eagerly told her. Without further due, she unwrapped it, to find herself staring the most adorable teddy bear. To think that he would actually buy her a teddy bear. It was a mere thought she stated but to her surprise she got a teddy bear.
An adorable, white, fluffy teddy bear. It had a cream bow, making it look dearly smart and small shaded eyes to glitter on and on. Magnet were in its paws, so that when it paws collide they stick together, while it stick to the ears as well, looking like its tugging its own ears.
"Thank you so much" beaming with joy she hugged the bear and a bear hug for him, as this meant so much to receive a gift from him. It meant, how close he was meaning to her day by day. She didn't realise she stood in his arms for a while, until Vicky came in to let her know they had to leave soon.
It was a small and yet big moment. They couldn't stay within each other's arm for long but in hearts they did for eternity.

Sarah returned home to see her room filled with balloons and small gifts from her family. Cards from her mother, father, sister and a few distant cousins, she suppose. She unwrapped a small gift box, to discover it was an album. To open and see that it was childhood pictures until now. All had her memories with her loved ones. Tears of joy were flowing down her cheeks, which were swiped off by her mother and gave a comforting motherly hug. Motherly hugs does magic. Keeping all her new treasures tided and stacked up on her bed side table, for cherry on top was her white teddy.
It reminded her of the white cat in 'Stuart little', 'Snowbell'. It is not a cat but the white resembles to snow and it's furry enough to cuddle for comfort. And so she named it, "Mr. Snowbell", a very dashing bear to protect her from the dangers that can creep from under her bed, while she sleeps.
As sleep takes over her, Sarah smiles and welcome the darkness of sleep as she knew she will wake for a new dawn, for as she has people whom is dear to her. And a special bear as well, who sits right beside her.
