"Welcome you are all a part of the 2016-2017 school year volleyball team" coach says proudly
"As I said last week I'll be choosing a captain out of the seniors. The girl I chose is extremely dedicated to this team and has been since her freshman year, she encourages others to do well, she's supportive and shows great leadership. I'm very glad that she decided to stay with us all these years because she's a great part of this team" he continues and his eyes stop on me and I swear my heart stopped
"I'd like to announce that ms.Taylor Dobrowolski is the new captain for this years volleyball team" I jump in excitement
The whole team cheers and the girls congratulate me.
"Taylor has worked her butt off and I believe she will lead this team to victory"
My eyes tear up and I run up to coach and give him a hug.
"Thank you!"
Most people would say it's great but I'm making it a bigger deal than it actually is but I couldn't give less of a shit right now, I've wanted this for very long. The only thing that beats this is my volleyball scholarship to USC.
After we all settle down coach speaks up again.
"We have an addition to the team, not a volleyball player but my assistant. He will also help you girls out, he will be here for tomorrow's practice so prepare for that!"
Assistant? With our luck it will be a guy who doesn't play a sport and knows nothing about volleyball but is doing it for extra credit, he won't need it though because he has atleast 5 extra credit book reports ready to hand in.
"Okay girls you can leave. Enjoy the rest of your day"
Everyone leaves and heads towards the cafeteria for lunch.
Once I see Cass I quickly run up to her.
"Cass you're looking at this years volleyball captain!"
"Oh my god congrats" she engulfs me in a hug
"You've wanted this for ages and I wouldn't be surprised if they made an announcement so be prepared" she winks
I wouldn't be surprised either, volleyball is one of the schools main sports.
"Ok everyone we'd like to congratulate Taylor Dobrowolski for earning the spot as volleyball captain, everyone give it up for Taylor!" some cheers are heard but mostly from the girls on the team and well Cass who's yelling in my ear right now
"Let's all hope that the girls earn the school a win and you can now go on with your day"
As I look around I find Ethan looking at me not in a happy way either but he's also slightly smirking. He's so confusing, I didn't even do anything.
But I'm to happy to let it get to me.... right now at least.
