Ch.2 telling Peyton

I walk into work and I'm a minute late I see Peyton tieing her apron around her back and my eyes fill with tears.
She turns around and her faces fills with concern "Lauren, what's wrong baby girl" she says running over to me wrapping her arms around my waist and pulling me into a tight hug
"Ughh.... We had..." I try to say it but my throat feels dry and I can't get the words out
Peyton wipes a tear from my face and she nods her head in understanding "no protection huh?"
I nod and she kisses my forehead and says " we'll talk about this later baby, everything will be fine" she grabs my hand and gives it a reassuring squeeze " I love you" she smiles and goes back to making her pumpkin spice latte
I put my apron on and go up to the front register "Hi welcome to Starbucks how can I help you" I say in a mono tone voice without looking up to see the face
"Lauren Roberts" a familiar raspy voice says
I look up from the cash register and my mouth drops "Nathan brooks?" I say shocked
*flashback*
"How can you leave me like this" I cry into his chest
"Shhh baby, I'm not leaving, I'm just going away and as soon as I come back we will pick up right where we left off, I promise" he says softly kissing my lips
"I'll miss you so much, I love you" I say
I kiss his lips for the last time for 3 years
"I love you" he says and let's go of my hand and walks away with tears rolling down his cheeks
*end flashback*
"Your back!" I say happily
I walk out around the counter and he pulls me into a hug
"Yes, and now we can pick up where we left off" he smirks and grabs my chin in his hand
"Nathan" I breathe "I have a boyfriend, and we're ugh pretty serious"
"Lauren, but what about us you promised remember?"
"Nate, I know what I said but..." I'm cut off by Niall walking through the door
"Babe, you left your phone in the car" Niall says cheerfully
"Who's this?" Nathan asks
"Nathan this is my boyfriend Niall. Ni this is an old friend Nathan"
Niall glares at Nathan "hi" he says wrapping his hands around my abdomen protectively
"Ugh Ni, we don't know if I'm pregnant" I whisper into his ear
"Just in case" he says his eyes never leaving Nathan's
"Anyway, ugh nice to see you Lauren, I'll be going now" he says slipping a card into my hand that I'm assuming has his number on it
He rushes out of the cafe
"Here" Niall says handing me my phone and turning around to walk out the door
"Where are you going" I question grabbing his hand
"To talk to him" he yells walking out
I fall to the floor crying and Peyton walks out of the kitchen and drops the cup she is holding when she sees my crying and wraps her arms around me and pulls me into her chest "I heard everything I'm going to talk to Niall" she says running out of the cafe
