Meeting Him

I gasped for breath, pumping my arms to the rhythm of my legs. I was only a few inches from the girl in front of me. I pushed myself harder, speeding up. But it wasn't enough. I watched her pass the finish line, me coming in right after.

"20 seconds."

Said my timer. I nodded a thanks. I wiped my forehead quickly and jogged over to Danny who had been watching from the sidelines.

"I hate the 100 meter."

I grumbled to him, leaning forward onto the fence in front of us.

"Oh shut up. You came in second place. That's pretty damn good if you ask me."

I looked up at him and grinned. He stuck his hand up for a high five, and I quickly hit his hand. I couldn't help but notice how much larger his hands are then mine. Ugh, why can't I be taller.

"Allie. Earth to Allie." I heard him say, his face in front of mine.

"Huh? What?"

"Are you done with your races then?"

I nodded a few times.

"Lets go get pizza then."

I grinned and pumped my fist down. When I turned to walk I noticed a few boys looking over at me. One of them smirked and gestured me over. I am pretty sure his name was Sam. I had to admit, he was not ugly. And I am pretty sure he was athletic.

"One second." I held up a finger to Danny and jogged over to them, putting my hand on my hip and popping it out a bit.

"Hey, Allie right?" Sam said.

I nodded and he grinned.

"Cool. Wanna get something to eat sometime?"

I blushed a bit.

"Like a date?" I asked, tilting my head a bit and putting a small smirk on my face.

"Exactly."

"Hm, sounds fun. You should text me."

"Cool."

He handed me his phone and I quickly entered my number into it. I made sure to put a smile emoticon next to my name before handing it back.

"Thanks. Text you then."  He said and I walked away, waving." I could hear his friends giving him a high five behind me and I grinned. I walked over to Danny again with a huge smile on my face, and immediately regretted it. Danny was looking at me, obviously holding back a laugh and raising his eyebrows.

"What was that?" He asked, beginning to walk with me to his car.

"I just won myself a date. With a hot guy."

I saw something flash across his face, but I couldn't tell what it was. I shrugged it off and hopped into the passenger seat of his truck. He started it up, and the engine made a few rumbling noises before it smoothed out. He backed up and begun to drive to Hungry Howies. I cranked up the music, my Justin CD in. Danny began humming along too Fall and I smirked at him. He always says he doesn't like Justin, but I think he is just trying to be cool. We pulled up and ordered our pizza, waiting for about 10 minutes before we got it. We ate in his car before he took me home.

I waved to him and went inside, getting in the shower quickly and then laying down. I read most the night and then fell asleep later.
