"My feet hurt..." Cy whined, Michel practically dragging him up the ginormous hill.
"You do still know that I can give you a ride, right?" I asked, leaning forward onto Octobers glossy black mane, which was easy because I was riding bare-back.
Cy jerked his head off Michel's shoulder, his eyes widening. "No. Way."
I rolled my eyes at him. "Whatever. "
We all walked in silence for a second, going only Michel knew where. Then Michel's eyes widened. "Hey, why don't we play Truth or Dare?"
Cy and I just stared at him like he was a crazy man. After a long, awkward moment, Cy said, "I thought you were centuries old, not two." We chuckled.
"Come on, it'll be fun." Michel countered.
Cy and I looked at each other, rolled our eyes, and then Cy said, "Fine. On one condition. I'm going first." He rolled his head over to me. "Lela."
I groaned. "Ugh. Dare, I guess."
Cy smiled. "You'll regret it, but O.K. then." When he looked at me again, there was an evil glint in his watery blue eyes. "I dare YOU to lay on your back on that horse-"
"October."
"Whatever. What I was saying was, lay on your back on OCTOBER-"
"There you go.
"-and ride her like that for as long as you can without falling off."
I groaned again, trying to find a way to even lay on October on my back. "I hate you, Michel."
"ME?" Michel said sarcastically. "What did I have to do with this?"
"You were the one who wanted to play truth or dare in the first place!"
"You were the one who chose dare!"
I halted October, turning myself around and forcing myself to lay down. "And yet again I say; whatever." I gripped October's coat with my hands, using my feet to lightly kick her behind. She started walking, and I dug my hands into her coat, trying hard to hold on. In fact, I had been trying so hard that I hadn't realized there had been an awkward silence until both of them burst out laughing. "You guys!" I yelled. "Don't make me want to laugh or I'll-SHIT!"
Just as I said the last word, one of Octobers hooves fell in a small pothole, causing me to fall over onto the darkened night ground. "Lela!" Michel and Cy said simultaneously rushing over to me.
To tell you the truth, I was fine. Even though October had only been at a walk, I had landed flat on my back. I should have at least had the wind knocked out of me. But I hadn't. "Oh my god, Lela! I'm so sorry!" Cy said, clutching my arm.
I was just about to tell him just how fine I was when a plan came to mind. A plan I would have bet Amy would have come up with long before I did. I gave a fake groan, one hand holding my head and the other my stomach. I squeezed my eyes shut in fake pain. Good thing I was good at lying. Therefor I'm good at acting. I hope.
"Yeah, well," I flashed my eyes open, the devilish gleam that hides in my them now completely clear. "You should be." And with that, I wrenched out of Cy's grip and started to run away.
"Oh no you did not!" Cy shouted, beginning to chase me.
"Oh yes I did!" I called over my shoulder, beginning to speed. But I didn't get very far before Cy tackled me. I screeched playfully, wrestling him. This went on until a large figure appeared above us. Michel frowned, his arms crossed on his buff chest.
