Amy held on tight to my back as we cantered through the clearing, Jack not far behind as we raced. I sped up even more, now full on galloping. We were riding my horse October, an appaloosa with a black coat with pale spots on her behind, and a main and tail so white they looked bleached. She only trusted me, Amy, and Jack, and trust me, you do not want to be you when you're near her. If you could shape-shift, that would be the time.

As soon as we were far away from Jack, I shouted over my shoulder, "Ready?!"

"Hours ago!" She replied at the top of her lungs. I slowed October down to a canter, then a fast trot. Jack passed us, and I made sure to keep us right behind him. He looked behind him, smirking at us. Then I looked behind myself, and Amy and I simultaneously nodded to each other. I leaned over to the left and grabbed my squirt gun out of my boot while Amy did the same on her right. Just as Jack started to look surprised, we shot him.

Amy hit his chest while my aim hit him right in the nose. We kept shooting while Jack slowed to a walk and then a stop. We trotted right by him, still shooting, and then trotted away. Then we rounded back around and came back to stop right in front of his horse. Jack was already off, wiping his face off from the water. Amy and I were still laughing really hard by the time we got dismounted.

When I looked at Jack, he looked hurt and pissed. The smirk was wiped right off my face. "What was that for?" He asked, wiping under his nose. "I was SUPOSED to prank you guys first."

Amy and I had barley looked at each other before we were sprayed with silly string. "Oh, it's on!" Amy screeched, tossing me another squirt gun, fully loaded. We shot him again and he sprayed us again over and over and over again. At one point, I started wondering where he was getting all that silly string, so when his back was turned, I reached into his bag. Sure enough, I grabbed out two bottles of the string. Before Jack noticed, I shot him with his own amo from behind. His mouth formed an O shape and he raided our bags. In the end, we ended up with each others weapons and on our sides; heaving with laughter.

After a little while, when everything had calmed down a little, I lay my head in the grass and looked around. The whole time, the horses had been grazing lazily, oblivious to our fighting. We were in a field that seemed to stretch on green forever, and the sky was starting to turn a pinkish-orange color, telling us dusk was on its way. Jack followed my gaze and said, "Maybe it's time to get home."

Amy's little face formed a pout. "Why?"

"It's getting dark." I replied.

At first Amy's pout just got deeper, but then her face brightened. "Can we cut through town?" She asked.

I stared into her little eyes. They were the same as mine. Green with a little hazel. Half and half. All angels have eyes that are half and half. I sighed, knowing there was no way I was going to win this stare battle. "Fine."

"Yay!" Amy shouted, running over to October. At first October's head shot up, but when she saw it was Amy, her ginormous horse eyes softened, and she went back to grazing. Amy led October to a large rock and mounted. She sat further back, because although she couldn't ride, I could, so I had to steer. Then she looked over at us. "Are you guys coming?"

I smiled and looked over at Jack. We both stood up and walked up to our horses. After we were mounted, we started to walk towards town. I kicked October lightly in the sides to get her to trot. Jack did the same with Majesty. In no time at all we were on the sidewalk in town. With pedestrians all around, we slowed to a walk again. Every now and then I would hear a little girl or boy shout, "Look mom! Horses!" If anyone else had been on October, she would have been overwhelmed and freaking out, but with me and Amy on her back, she was totally calm. But then I got a really bad feeling, like someone was watching us that shouldn't be.

I turned around and saw a man that was completely dressed in black staring at me and Amy. Every part of skin he had was hidden. His face was blocked by a black fedora, (Seriously? Who wears fedora's anymore?) but I could already sense his aura. It was dark, secretive, and untrustworthy. When I dug a little deeper, I found out something that made me pull back immediately. His whole life was committed to murder. But it wasn't possible for someone in their twenties to have killed that many people. That's when something in me clicked. This man wasn't human. He was a vampire.

The man smiled at me before he was joined by another man in black-correction- another VAMPIRE in black, and then I saw something human eyes would have been to slow to catch. Both their eyes momentarily flashed an iridescent red, and that's when I looked away. "Jack!" I called ahead of me.

When he turned around, his eyes were swarming with worry, as mine were so full of fear they could be overflowing with it. "Yeah?"

All I had to reply with was one word. "Run." He started to gallop and I turned around to look at Amy. "Hold on." I dug my heals into October and galloped after Jack.

Hope I left you guys in suspense, because that's what I was going for! Next chapter will probably have a lot more pages, and you can probably guess why. If you can't, read when I publish it so you can find out! Pls vote!
