Oh my, he is gorgeous. Pull yourself together Evelyn, close that mouth and walk with your head held high, I think as I walk into the studio.
"E, you are here. Where is M?" queries Emily. I look up and see my sun-kissed best friend standing there next to the shirtless god of a model.
"Mandy is sick at home, she has come down with the man-flu," I respond as I chuck my bag down next to the clothes rack.
"Mandy is not a man though," responds Emily as she picks a new pair of pants for the model.
"Yes, Mandy is not a man. I mean that she is sick of men, she is heart-broken."
"Oh that poor darling, I should take her over some new clothes from the stylist room."
Of course, that's were all Mandy's new clothes are from. She couldn't afford to buy anything new. Must get Emily to get me some new clothes for work, I think as I move over to near where the camera is set up.
"Can we get you to stand over there in front of the white screen?" I ask the model as I fiddle with the camera lens.
"Sure, names Spencer Leishman and you are?" asks Spencer in a glorious British accent.
I giggle, "Evelyn Ashford."
"Nice to meet you, Evie. How would you like me to stand?" asks Spencer as he stands in front of the white screen.
I notice him looking me up and down. What's there to look at? There's nothing special or good looking about me. I have uncontrollable red hair and blue eyes. Don't get me started about how bad my nose looks. My nose is so tiny and doesn't look any good on my face. I have ears too big for my head. And my body is in such a pear-shape. No guy ever finds me attractive, so why would this gorgeous blonde hair blue eyed model be staring me up and down?
"Is this how you want me to stand?" asks Spencer as he flexes his bicep.
"Sure, stand like that. Typical jock pose and the names Evelyn, not Evie," I chirp back as I take snaps of him.
He laughs and responds, "Evie, I'm no jock."
"Again the name is Evelyn. How would you like if I called you Spence instead of Spencer? You are typical jock, look at you- you have the hard rock abs and bulging biceps. And you just choose to stand there and flex your biceps as your first pose. Typical jock wanting to impress the girls."
Emily begins laughing in the back ground and I can't help but giggle myself. I just shot this poor guy down.
"I wouldn't mind if you called me Spence, Evie. I'm not a typical jock. I don't see a girl here that I would need to impress," throws back Spencer as he goes over to clothes rack and puts a shirt on.
"What are you doing? I haven't finished taking your picture yet!" I exclaim as I walk over to the clothes rack.
"Too bad, Evie. I'm done for today. Sure Margie would like to hear about how my first day at the magazine went."
"What do you mean by that?" I ask as I put my arm out to stop him.
He pushes my arm away and replies as he walks out of the studio, "She would love to know how the uptight photographer victimized the magazine owner's son about being a jock."
