I don't get far away from the bar, before I trip and land on the grotty bar floor. I feel two warm hands touch me on my shoulders and help me up.
My drink has spilled all over my outfit and I can feel some tears begin to well up in my eyes. "Here let me help you love," as the guy helps me up.
I look away from him so he can't see me crying over a spilt drink. I feel him brush his hands over my body to get all the rubbish off me from the floor. "Don't cry love. You are alright," says the guy as he pushes a lock of my hair behind my ear.
I turn my face and look him in his gorgeous blue eyes. "Spence?" I question.
"Yes, I helped you up."
"Why would you help me up? After I have been such a rude bitch to you tonight?" I question as I wipe tears away from my eyes.
Spence grabs my hand and pulls me toward an empty booth. "I helped you because I know that's not the real you that you have been acting like. I can see that you are really nice and caring girl. Plus I don't like to see someone fall over due to my making. Let me buy you another drink?"
I sit down in the booth and nod. I watch as he walks back towards the bar. How could I be so crazy not to see how generous and kind this guy was? I was a total bitch towards him and he still helped me up. He even wiped all that yucky stuff from the floor off me. Maybe I shouldn't judge a book by its cover?
"Here you go love another Double Impact. This time don't spill it every where," he teases as he gives me the drink. I giggle at him.
"Can I please apologize for how I have been acting towards you?" I begin to ask.
"This isn't the booze talking right now?" He questions.
I shake my head and begin to speak, "Not at all. I am truly sorry. I have known guys like you before. The guys who look like jocks and end up to be jerks. I have dated my fair few of them guys. And now when I meet guys like that I act all harsh and cold towards them because I don't want to get my heart broken again."
"Evie, has anyone ever mentioned the saying 'don't judge a book by its cover' to you before?" Spence asks as he sits down next to me.
"Funny enough I was just thinking about that as I watched you go to the bar," I teased.
"You were watching me?" He raises his eyebrow towards me.
"Maybe," I smirk and look away from him.
"Don't start this again," as he turns my face back toward him, "I like looking at your gorgeous face."
In that moment, I leaned over and kissed him on the lips. I quickly pulled away from him and looked at his expression. But as quickly as I pulled away, he quickly pulled me back in and I could feel the emotion with every kiss he gives me. I smiled with every little kiss and could feel him smiling as well.
"Wow, that was amazing. Didn't expect that to happen tonight," I say as I pull myself away from him.
I hear him laugh and say, "Wow, indeed."
"I gotta get back to the girls. See you Spence," as I give him a quick peck on the lips and leave the booth.
All I can hear from him as I leave is, "When will I see you again Evie?"
