I pull back from him and look straight into his mesmerizing eyes. "Spence, we shouldn't do this," I utter.
He moves a piece of my hair out of my eyes and says, "Why not Evie?"
"Because I don't want to get hurt again. I don't want to get feelings for you and have you break my heart," I retort as I look away from him.
He turns my face back towards his and kisses me softly. "Evie, I don't want to hurt you or break your heart," he says as he kisses me again.
"I want to get to know you and see what happens. I think we have really great banter," he says as he looks into my eyes.
"You only just met me today and already trying to get into my pants," I tease as I give him a quick peck on the lips.
He laughs and replies, "what can I say? When I see something I want to conquer, I will conquer it."
I nudge him in the rib cage and say, "see that just proves my point that you are just a player."
"I was only joking Evie," he replies.
"I don't believe you that you are only joking. If you were joking, how about you take me on a date?" I retort.
He stares at me in utter shock that I mentioned the D word. What is so wrong with taking a girl out on a date these days rather than taking a girl back to your place for a quick bang and then a see you later. When we all know you will never see her later.
"A date?" He asks.
I nod at him and wait for his reply. He looks at me and cringes before saying, "sure I can take you on a date."
"Really?"
"I guess, we can go on a date. I don't know what to do on a date but if that's what you want to do," he replies as he kisses me on the cheek.
The cab comes to halt and I look out the window to see that we are in Soho already. I turn to Spence, grab his phone from inside his jacket pocket and put my number in his phone.
"Call me tomorrow and I will see about that date," I reply as I lean over to give him a quick kiss goodbye.
He grabs me by the face and kisses passionately. I have to pry his hands off my face to be able to get out of cab without inviting him back to my apartment. I open the cab door and slide out on to the road. He puts the window down in the cab and yells as the cab pulls away from the curb, "see you soon Evie."
I stand there with my fingers to my lips and watch the cab drive away with my dream man inside.
