a few months later

"are we seeing baby mae!?" luke squeals.

mae was the baby of darren and kiera, a couple the two met when they found baby mae lost one day. they managed to find mae's parents and the two were so grateful that they've been friends ever since.

"no comment" ashton says morbidly.

"daddy, please tell meee" luke whines.

"no" ashton retorts.

"daddyyy" luke pouts.

"no"

"i'll cry!" he crosses his arms with the same pout.

"lu–"

"i'll do it! i will!" he threatens emptily.

"okay fine, we are" ashton give sin to avoid dealing with two sobbing babies.

"really!?" he cheers excitedly.

"yes, baby" ashton gently pulls luke
a tight embrace as the giggly boy bounces around in joy.

"you're so cute" ashton chuckles fondly.

"whose a cutie baby, you're a cutie baby!" luke cuddles mae, speaking in a baby voice.

"he's great with kids, we haven't got mae to be quiet all night" the dad, darren says.

"really?" ashton seems shocked.

"yeah let me tell you, your life does not improve with a baby" kiera sighs.

"yeah, you think it will. but the sex, the excitement, the happiness... just kinda goes" darren adds.

"in some cases its fine and it works, or it even improves things, but in most cases, including ours... it didn't help at all. we love Mae, but it's just so stressful sometimes"  kiera looks down sadly.

they all look over at luke and mae when hearing a giggle and shriek to see them playing and messing around.

"he" darren points at luke, "he's a natural, ash"

"yeah, you got yourself a good one, sweetie, don't let home go" the couple smile tightly before walking off, leaving ashton alone with his wild thoughts, but for once, that wasn't such a bad thing.
