I spent the holidays, obviously, here in Baguio with my family. We didn't go on an out of town trip for the Christmas and New Year, instead, we celebrated it at our grandparents' house with our other relatives. We did another reunion which just basically happens every year, but they usually hold it on New Year's eve since it's more festive compared to Christmas.
I just wish next year, mom's here with us already. Siya lang kasi sa magkakapatid ang hindi nakakasama, and it's been years since she's missing family gatherings like this.
Our whole family exchanged greetings and gifts and 'pakimkims', which I really loved, my favorite thing during holidays I must admit. Then I grabbed my phone to greet Pash who is at the other side of the world. Joke, she's just in their province.
I sent my greetings to her and her family, even sent a photo of me.
Then when I was about to put my phone down, I received a greeting from Lucian.
It was a video message sent through snapchat. He was sitting when the snap started and then he smiled, lips closed.
"Hey Selena," he crooned with a low voice. "Happy new year."
Okay, mukha siyang bagong gising. And I bet he is. Natulog muna bago gumising just right in time for the media noche.
Nagkukusot pa siya ng mata, and he was slightly pouting. Tapos sinuklay-suklay niya yung medyo humaba niya nang buhok tapos ngumiti lang uli sa camera. then he mouthed 'Bye' before the snap ended.
I just replied normally, said thanks and returned the greeting.
Pero para na 'kong timang na pangiti-ngiti sa screen ng phone ko.
Another snap came from him. He was walking towards somewhere in, I guess, his house. "Say hi to tita and tito for me. And to the three," pahabol pa niya. Tapos nilapit niya yung front cam ng phone niya sa bridge ng ilong niya, parang ewan lang. The he whispered, "Have a blast."
Parang wirdo 'tong si Lucian. Pwede namang mang-bati ng maayos. May pa-ganon-ganon pa.
Nireplayan ko nalang ng okay, thanks, the usual replies.
And then I received a reply from Pash.

I wasn't expecting that kind of reply from her. Hindi kaya siya ang lasing?

Then she sent a photo of our convo, my greeting kani-kanina lang.
